  1. I was also curious about Knobhill, Everything you post seems angry. Is it your personality. I would think that if you didnt like the site then why sign in?;D??  Sorry my .02

If you check my history you'll see I was continuously attacked by fivestare for unknown reasons and now have been ridiculed for defending myself. I told ken I would not stand for it anymore and am now voicing my unexpurgated opinions. Like it or not.

  2. Available PCI-E x16 slots and what is it used for. they r putting them on new computers r they neccessary?

    Extra slots never hurt. LOL

If your only using this machine for your sign biz, No need to care. If your using the machine for business and gaming your a fool to mix business with gaming on the same machine.

  3. Dellrose, I was in the same boat as you are in. DHL just delivered my new laptop this afternoon... with Vista Home Premium. I didn't nessacerily want Vista, but for the price range that I was looking at, it was easier to just bite the bullet and get one with Vista. Sooner or later XP is going to be gone, so I figured I might as well get used to Vista now.

Which programs have problems running on Vista?

    SBE?

    Inkscape?

    Adobe Illy?

    Photoshop?

    Flexi Pro?

    Corel Draw?

My suggestion is not to take your old machine out of service before testing the new one. Have a backup plan. If you don't have one, don't do anything until you do!!!

  4. How long is it going to take to settle this issue?? Been months now. I lost a contract because of this. I saved a contract by switching to Vinyl Master Pro. UScutter is the one I purchased the software from so It's their responsibility to make good not ColorChrome. I have two so called legal copies that are worthless.

  5. Support for XP will be around for at least another year or so. If you buy a new desktop just go with what it comes with for an OS. Now it's mostly Vista. Since you already have a proven machine, you have a backup in case there are problems with the new one. I'm using XP and Vista x64. I suggest purchasing a machine that will serve your needs for the next 3-5 year's. The notion you need the latest and greatest for a sign shop is ludicrous. I do work for a shop with six and eight year old computers. Both still working perfectly. Since I built both machines I have some bragging rites. One on XP and the other Win98!. LOL
