DISASTER!!!
Knobhill replied to jtmercutio's topic in Creation PCUT Cutting Plotter Support Requests
I Found on both my cutters the DMPL drivers are the only ones to work 100% I don't mean to repeat others but recheck your settings. http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php/topic,1602.0.html -

The paper backing usually doesn't like getting wet. If there's a chance of condensation affecting the area I'd say put one in.

I did the same as some of you did and purchased the lower cost vinyl to build up a little inventory. I'm starting my own business on a shoe string budget as well. The veteran people will know what I mean. The lower cost vinyl is similar to cutting with a worn blade. It tales a lot of patience. So far I'm happy with it.

Pcut owners... how are you connected
Knobhill replied to firemalt's topic in Creation PCUT Cutting Plotter Discussion
Tried USB during testing. Laptop didn't have a serial port. Went with serial on th desktop with no issues. Found it easier to set up. -

I actually have a Pcut 630 and a re-badged Refine MH721. I prefer the Pcut. It runs smoother and quieter. The precision and tracking is just as good as any other cutter I've used. my 2cts http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php/topic,6981.0.html

After a couple of months of use!!!

I've been using my Pcut 630 for a couple months now and after initial setup and with the help of much reading here, it's been a success. Every machine has it's quirks so learning them is the key. My personal opinion after working with the high priced plotters in the past, I'm very happy with this plotter and confident with the investment for my new shop. -
You're wasting your time. This kind of error usually means your hardware is too old.

You really need to supply more info. when exactly in the cut does it act up? What does the plotter screen say? Much more info needed. -
I believe the drivers are in the SignBlazer root folder.
-
What type of files? (eps/ai) There are programs out there that can view graphic files and some are free.
-
Thanx for the info, it explains why so many are having problems with activation. Someone should put up a sticky telling everyone what's going on over there. These are times to consider having a backup plan. Thanx be to trial mode, I hope the new owners don't take the functionality away from it in the future.

I'm trying to reactivate by their instructions and it's being a royal pain.
-
I noticed this too. I believe SBE can only preview a limited number of file types. Maybe Pro previews more.
-
Use the serial connection. The computer itself doesn't need to see the plotter, only the SignBlazer software does. You'll need to reset the settings in SBE for the serial com port, usually com1.

Is this a good deal?

I'm the opposite, I never minded someone watching me work because I usually put them to work. LOL -
I quoted on a job yesterday for lettering a store front window aprox 5' x 8'. Vinyl size about 3.5' x 6'. I was second quoting the job. The first quote was for one color (white) substituting the customers graphic and font with standard in stock for $200 vinyl only, and $385 installed. It can be cut on a 24" plotter without paneling but applied in three pieces in aprox 20 minutes.
