I guess I'm just a die hard fan! But I have a right to be. I have made a lot of money with my cutters.

The sad thing about it is that the very people who started this forum could end up leaving for another forum. I would hate to see the loss of that kind of knowledge and talent!
-
When this forum first started was when sign*** was slamming US Cutter and any other company that sold cutters. I doubt that I will visit their forum!

Back many a year ago, we had the same problem right here on this very forum. The best thing to do, if you not only want everyone to drool over your work, but also for your work NEVER to be deleted is to upload the pics to your own sight and provide a link in your posts.

MH871 use with sharpie
thredz replied to hharley3059's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
You have to run them as a plot instead of a cut. And when I do sharpies, I set the tip at about the height of a nickel so the pen doesn't drag across the paper. Hope that helps. -
I think the prolific cables are wired for the cutters. But every thing I have heard about using another type of usb/serial cable is that they are a pita because they do not work correctly. I think John is right though about the 871 issues. But I have hooked my cutters up through usb/serial on 4 or 5 desktops and laptops with xp to Win 7 with no issues.

Your best bet is to buy the prolific cable that USC sells. And then download the latest prolific drivers. I am running a MH721 and a Copam 2500 on a laptop with Windows 7 and I have had no problems.

Need Help...Tried Everything
thredz replied to Bfutura15's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Have you checked your blade offset? It should be between .025 and .030 . And I would make sure " send arc command" is unchecked. -
Got a Serial cable, not won't recongize the cutter
thredz replied to Jeffrey06's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
If you had it on a serial port to begin with, you were on the right track. I would say it was more of a memory issue. If your 50" decal was detailed, it would add a lot of nodes for the memory to load. You might try welding the decal and see if it cuts the node count. Or try reducing the decal a few percent. -
Are you applying firm pressure with a squeegee when you apply the tape to the decal? If you are and it's not sticking then I would suggest using a good brand of tape such as R-Tape conform.

Memory Upgrade? 721
thredz replied to whitecastle's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
there was a 4 meg memory upgrade a few years ago. I was going to order memory for my 721. But then I got the copam. -
MH721 Adding a Pinchroller?
thredz replied to gamudslinger88's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
I have never used more than two pinch rollers on mine in four years. I've never had a problem with the feed or cutting with two as long as I press and run my hand down the vinyl as I set it from roller to roller. -
I always keep a few prints on shirts of the first runs. And some of them I've had around 4 years now with no peeling, pulling or tails. For the money first mark is a very good product.
-
After about 8 or 10 washings the first mark softens up and has an almost feel of hand like a screen print. It does fairly well on the small detail and holding corners on the designs.

I live in Amarillo. Get in touch with me and I'll see what I can do.

I use flexisign 7.5. It works better than any program I've tried. It's costly, but worth it.

I would recommend fleixsign either full or starter. If you get the lettering program you will only be frustrated when you can not manipulate graphics with it,

Here's one I did for the Harmonica player on our worship team. Hope it helps. 032210harmonica.eps 032210harmonica.eps

It sounds more like pressure than anything. I set my press at 320 and do them for 18 - 20 seconds. But I have so much pressure on mine that it takes both hands to release. If you don't apply a lot of pressure, the vinyl just lays on top of the material instead of binding to the mesh.
