Is it standard to get one with the Copam cutters? I just ordered a Copam 24" the other day...and it is scheduled to arrive on Friday! I can't wait. If the pen holder + pen doesn't come with the cutter, it's not terribly expensive...so I may get one if others have had good success with it.

Hey. I'm new here to the forum. Just thought I would pop in and say hello. I'm looking into the various USCutter models at the moment. Not sure which one I should get yet. Probably don't need anything larger than a 24" model, but I do want something sturdy that is going to last.

I pulled the trigger today and ordered the Copam CP-2500. A special thanks to kenimes for all his help. I'm excited to get my cutter!

What websites did you find the free sample rolls of vinyl? As soon as I decide on which USCutter model to get, it would be nice to play a little bit with some sample vinyl, plus have a chance to play with a couple different brands before purchasing.

I just downloaded and installed Inkscape. I compared the trace between Inkscape and Illustrator CS3, and the result came out much better with Inkscape on this graphic. Very nice! Thanks for the tip about Inkscape. I'm sure I will be using it regularly going forward. And you can't beat free.

I was able to vectorize the HON portion very easily with Illustrator CS3, using Live Trace.

Thanks all! I have spent the better part of today on this forum. Lots of great information. It's always those tough decisions as to which one to get. But I'm sure I'll get there. It will definitely be from USCutter. Hopefully, I can offer something to the forum as well soon enough.

mach9, I use Illustrator. It takes a bit to learn that product, but once your do...it's awesome! BTW, I'm brand new to the forum. I'm considering buying a vinyl cutter myself. Have not decided which one to go with yet.
