  5. I'll start off by saying thanks for all the helpful advice I have gotten so far. I have come up with t-shirt designs that have text running vertically almost the entire length of a shirt. I am a noob so im not sure if buying a 15x15 press and pressing the top half, then the bottom half would be wise....should I just suck it up and buy a 16x24?..what size would you recommend? The designs are similar to the shirt below (text size would vary but thats the basic idea). I dont want to get into spending over 1k on this press. I also want to be able to print transfers (images or other graphics I've designed) that can only be done with a printer. I would like an 11x17 printer and have the ability to print on darker color shirts as well. Again I dont want to spend an arm and a leg on it...anything to get me started in the 500$ range? Thanks in advance. Just point me in the right direction and I'll do the research.
  6. I would have loved to get the sunie but they are out of stock and wont have them until Nov 4th..I can wait...i have stuff to do....i bought one of the generic presses but it was one that had more good reviews and very little bad reviews....ordered my t-shirts and vinyl...should be cooking in less than 2 weeks...

    HUGE job(for me at least)

im interested in seeing the finished product...how did it go?
  15. Hello all, I'll get straight to the point. Im a youth leader and my church, Me and the wife are starting a ministry that is completely dedicated to fund raising for mission trips. We'll be making t-shirts and just about anything else that can be made with a vinyl cutter. Ive been making vinyl vehicle graphics as a hobby and am familiar with that aspect...i am unfamiliar with t-shirt vinyls and their qualities. We want the vinyl to last.....making a high quality t-shirt. Is there a difference in heat presses? I mean buying one for $275 as opposed to 400-500? And, of course, t-shirt brand preferences...we want inexpensive, but not cheap...i want a good all around t-shirt. Thanks in advance.

Trouble importing .dxf files - HELP!

Im an autocad tech by profession so i design much of my graphics in autocad. I've always exported to R12 dxf (which dumbs down the lines/curves so other programs can comprehend them) and Ive never had a problem with it. Ive only used signblazer to do this so i know it works.
  17. Hi, I have a MH721 and used it for a few months and it worked ok. I took about a week off and when I started to use it again I found out that that carriage was not moving vertically. It will move side to side, and the vinyl gets fed back and forth like its supposed to but no cutting. The blade just wont drop. I checked the forums and have taken the cutter apart 2 times to ensure everything is snug. Yes, I can do a test cut but the same issue occurs, the blade doesnt drop. Should I just buy a new carriage and give that a shot? I dont really feel like spending money on this if im not sure that its the problem. Any ideas?
  18. got it working again...i appreciate the help
  19. bought the new carriage, got it and installed it today. the blade holder doesnt drop still......whats the next step? can you tell me what wires are directly related to the up/down movement of the carriage? Im trying to track the issue back to the motherboard. Im noticing some wires that are slightly chewed like a mouse got in there. I cant see any damage to the motherboard but who knows....the mouse might have pissed all over it and screwed me over.
  20. it wasnt at the time that this problem started but it is now. Im afraid the damage has already been done. the unit wasnt sitting on the stand when it happened, it was on a table.
  21. I have been using this cutter for a couple months and its worked virtually flawless. After a few days of non-use I tried to cut out some graphics and THOUGHT it had cut them out but it turns out it just went through all the motions but never actually cut on the vinyl. The blade isnt dropping down onto the vinyl. Like I said before, it goes through the motions as if it were cutting...it just doesnt drop the blade from its default position. Any quick fixes to this problem? I am new to this and know relatively little about vinyl cutters but am very tech savy.
