Only partial image shows up when bringing inkscape file into SBE
muibubbles replied to muibubbles's topic in SignBlazer
thanks mb20- the only thing is the headlights and grill is suppose to be a heavier line weight than the outline... when i combine them it makes everything the same line weight. if it combine them separately only half imports over... but at the same time i never combined the other 8 cars i did so im not sure why this one is being difficult... =/ -
Only partial image shows up when bringing inkscape file into SBE

So i did these line drawings of cars in inkscape then im bringing them to SBE "welding all" and cutting. i have 9 total i did them exactly the same. I have 8 done except for this one... for some reason when i open it in SBE only 4 lines show up.. can someone help me out? idk why this one is different from the other 8 that worked flawlessly.... nc 09 line d.eps nc 09 line d.svg -
Just looking for some ideas that I might have overlooked. I own a business that sells tshirts/decals. I have finished decals I bring to events with me and I'm looking for a better solution then just carrying them with a rubber band around them. I was thinking envelopes but that might be annoying... maybe one of those storage boxes for files? any suggestions would be awesomee!

Fastest way to do bulk order of multi colored decals?
muibubbles posted a topic in General discussion
I know how to do multicolored decals using the layering technique with registration, but my questions is how do you guys do them if you are doing a production run? Typically i will... Cut decal weed cut each layer apply layer transfer tape trim is there a better way so im not cutting twice? Also when you sell decals are they ALL centered and ALL on the same size paper? (ex, if the decal was a circle, each one you sell the circle is centered and in a perfect square box? or do you just make sure the back is all the same size but placement of the circle isnt centered?) -
Ok this may be a bit more complex then i can explain so i'm going to try and simplify it.. 1. I drew a triangle shape (rotor) with the bezier tool. When i send it to SBE and cut it, it actually cuts the line thickness vs just the shape. -line weight is 1px -there is stuff inside the triangle so i can not just "fill it" -in order to keep the nice straight lines (not jagged) i have to go to PATH and then convert STROKE TO PATH (if i dont do this, in SBE the lines become multiple line segments 2. The two pieces in the green outline can be filled in, but when i fill it in, SBE treats it like a 150+ line segments and becomes what is equivalent to 50 sided octagon instead of a circle. ALSO the "gear" gets cut into 10000 pieces versus one continuous line SO, i did PATH then convert STROKE TO PATH which makes it what you see now, so now im weeding 3 lines right next to each other vs 1 (for the rings) and the gear im pulling about 20 teeth out + the 2 lines any suggestions/help?

Back window decal

reviving this thread... if you are charging $6 per foot for a 1 color, how much would you charge for a 2 color and 3 color? -
So I have client that wants a "rustic italian font" I'm not too sure what that is but its not really that important (lol) The t-shirt design is Italian themed (green shirt with white and red text) Its a humor tee' and need some font that has an italian look to it. any recommendations? Front: "Mama's Meatballs" Back: " My balls have attitude"

maybe this will help, lets say i make 3 seperate lines (like a U) and i want to join them together to make one continuous line, how do i do that? i tried path> union and it makes a box inside the "U"
-
Path and combine just "groups" it like one piece but doent treat it like one solid line. I am trying to trace a bumper and i made it in multiple passes. now i want to fill it in with a color but i get all kind of unknown geometry. i ended up removing all the details (headlights and vents) then union worked.. then set the details on the layer on top. I guess there is no real easy way to do it since i drew the whole thing out already lol. thanks jay!

path+ union deletes some of my lines, it hasnt worked =(

So the 2 programs i currently use are inkscape and SBE. In SBE there is a weld function that connects the lines to make them one. I was wondering if there was a function like this similar in inkscape? Basically when i outline an image, i have multiple lines and i want to combine them into one line (ive tried the "combine" command but thats really only "grouping" not actually fusing the lines together)

First multicolor vinyl: need help with layering image
muibubbles replied to muibubbles's topic in General Help
so is it "acceptable" to have that overlay seem/crease under the lettering? -
So im about to attempt my first multicolor decal. my friend originally designed these and got them printed and contour cut for me for christmas. since then i ran out and got my vinyl cutter so i want to give it a goo! from my understanding the layers will go as follow 1 Black base 2 Pink on top 3 White on top is that how you would do it? Also i plan for the black layer to be solid (whole decal) now the pink is where im confused at. It willl be all one color (no gradient) BUT do i have the circles solid and over lay white over them (there will be a crease where the white overlays the pink) or do i cut out negatives for the white lettering? Then the obvious white top layer

muibubbles replied to muibubbles's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
what do you mean by that? (sorry im a newbie) is it like a setting? bcause even if i pull the paper forward it reverses the paper and then starts cutting.
