    newbie:how i got started

Hey, so I am a newbie to the actual decal business, so here's how I got started. I just had my first child in July and wanted to decorate his room. Didn't find anything I liked, so I decided to buy a silhouette, but ended up buying a MH871. Everyone loved the nursery, so I would make my family decals. Then 3 weeks after buying my machine I was laid off from teaching and since I won't be recalled until August I found myself decaling my life away. So there you have it, my road to cutting
  2. TOTALLY DIDN'T THINK TO USE BACKING. Only had transfer tape, so I just tried it. Changed the orientation, adjusted my blade and increased my force to 230. I'll be getting that cricut mat this weekend and may go up on my force to 240. But I think I got it. THANKS
  3. Hi, I'm a newbie when it comes to cutting cardstock. Cutting vinyl I have zero problems but I was trying to make custom invitation holders using cardstock. Does anyone know how much force I should be using to get clean edges? This was my first try. Next try I'm changing the orientation so the lettering can be bigger. The white paper is just a place holder for where the invitation will be inserted. Its supposed to say LOUIS IV PRINCE OF THE SEA FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY Any tips?
