So I am mainly going to use Oracal 631 matte vinyl. My substrates will be mainly painted wood boards and interior walls. Does it make a difference which type of transfer tape i use with this specific type of vinyl and application? Clear or masking tape type? A certain degree of "stickyness"? Love being able to have this forum to ask dumb questions like this!

Gosh darn it!!! So I got so excited, my hubby and I jumped on the comp and started following all of your steps....and then the first time we came to download the custom updates my comp crapped out with the bright blue screen and said that it had experienced a problem and we ended up rebooting, and then redoing all the steps again and this time every time we tried to complete the custom updates it just said that the updates failed. Im thinking I just need to get a different computer if it wont even allow me to do the necessary updates??? What do you think Protek? Not to mention that now when I try to cut from both SB and SignCut it wont even communicate at all with the cutter, let alone freeze up...even after going through and adjusting all the settings and everything. Grrrr.... hopefully this works for other people. It seems to make a lot of sense...if only my computer would cooperate for once.

I know from experience though that these guys (Ken and Crew) have been working really hard (including extra hours) on this problem. Just an FYI for anyone else reading this thread that doesnt know whats going on.

So then will uscutter provide me with the flexi 8 software before I return my BRAND NEW purchase that has had this issue from day 1? Ive tried mine with another comp...same prob. I PMed Ken 4 days ago with no response. I think its owed to me to atleast continue to help me with my problem even if uscutter doesnt think they can fix it...im losing money..

So I am brand new to vinyl cutting, and am trying to start my own business making home decor signs and wall words. I have the 24" PCut and would like to know what type/brand/company vinyl other people would suggest that I use for this type of vinyl usage.

thanks again...I finally found the vinyl bulletins... I just didnt scroll down enough! Looks to me like Oracal 631 is the way to go...do you have a favorite supplier?

ok, new question. Why oracal 631 and not the 641 or 651? And also, what about other brands such as Avery? And last but not least, which online supplier would one suggest? ...Couldnt find the prior thread about vinyl, so hopefully you guys dont mind reanswering some questions for me.

So I just recieved my Creation the other day. I uploaded everything, Signblazer is working great, but when I try to cut, I get a message everytime that says, "cannot open the output device. Error initializing cutter". I have done the whole thing with setting signblazer up to COM1 which is what my computer says it is using. Im pretty frustrated as I feel I have read everything and tried everythign and nothing is making this thing move!!! All I hope is that it is just me and not some technical problem. HELP this blondy out!
