I'm just wondering why you couldn't just use regular vinyl as a base for Dry Erase markers? It seems to work for me....anything I'm not aware of? Because that Dry Erase Vinyl stuff is stinkin expensive!

Vinyl Master Pro can't import eps or ai?

But I bet Newzelandish sounded a lot cooler than English! -
These are pictures of how my business has progressed over the last year...I've gotten bored with "wall art" and decided to try some different artistic venues...and this is what I've come up with so far! You opinions are welcome! The first few are my vinyl on some canvases I painted, the next is an old wooden window I got for free, painted it and put the silver vinyl on the window panes, and the red is actually on the wall behind the window for a cool effect (pic doesn't do it justice). Last, this really isn't my typical, but for my first store front signage (in 30 degree weather) I thought I did pretty good! No bubbles, no mess ups!

Thanks, all! I really appriciate you taking the time to look!

I was wondering if this is possible to vector? Even if I could get it as an outline where you can tell that it is a bear? I've tried, but it just isn't workin for me. Thanks to any help! Jamie

That's what I was worried about...I guess that's all I needed to know!
-
I wish, because those are totally great! However, this is the specific image of a bear that they were looking for. Thanks so much though!

I forgot to mention that I will be cutting this with reflective vinyl...so that is why I'm looking for a little less detail.

I found it interesting that I came looking for answers to the exact same question with my GX-24. Mine was working great UNTIL I put in a new blade. I was so confused! So I am going to try that WD40 and let you know if it works for me as well! However, mine really only does the "skipping" on circular images and/or lettering. Was it the same for any of you as well? I finally was able to find a free version of the font and thought I'd share, if anyone is interested... aquarelle.zip aquarelle.zip

so I just got my new laptop. I'm out of town so haven't had a chance to see if it will work, but my dad was wondering if my flexi will run with the new windows 7? I told him "of course!". I hope I'm right... =)
-
I was told that I need to upgrade to the Flexisign pro 8.5 for it to be mac compatible....after looking at the cost for the upgrade (no one will give me a straight answer, even when I say, CAN I PLEASE BUY THIS) which looks to be between 400 and 1,000 bucks, it looks like I will be buying another P.C. Maybe later once My business is booming, then I can afford, both the pricey, cool computer AND the pricey upgrade. =)

I have a large circle (36 inches) that I am layering multiple colors on to. I will wet ap the base onto the window, but my question is wether or not I use wet ap for the layering ONTO vinyl? This was my plan, as I hate bubbles and assume this is the best option. Just wanted to make sure before I ruin $100 worth of vinyl. Thanks, I love this forum. Allows newbies like me to feel confident enough to take on these first jobs that seem a little beyond skill level!

thanks for your help today Cave Man! it was great learning from a old pro. Felt squeegees..i need to find me one of those!
-
thanks guys! I think I'll still do wet for the bottom layer as im still not too good at the dry/no bubbles thing.

ewen.jamie posted a topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
What should I have charged for this type of work? I have never done this much layering/detail..not really my cup of tea, but I have the ability so thought Id give it a shot....def. way more work then expected and need to make sure I get paid, but don't want to overcharge? Java1.eps Java1.eps -
