    The comp you have isn't bad at all, i would agree with green get more ram..That comp smokes mine and i run photoshop and corel at the same time everyday on a P4

    I cut 7' last night no problem on my LP minimal movement prob 1/8 inch which was prob the vinyl not being perfectly strait..

    Good stuff man, yeah i think the usb modules in these cutters aren't the greatest. I would recommend nothing but serial as i have never had a problem with it..

    How big is the file your cutting i did this last night at 17"x78" without a problem on my lp using serial could be the usb I have read that static could also effect the machines weirdly

    On my lp i cut some graffiti lettering last night that was 17"x78" without a hitch. Sorry i can't be of any other help.

    looks like a Model CX-24, Camm-1 i think it's the old model, i saw one online just today for 350$ on craigs list *edit still looks to be a great buy the one i found is probably quite a bit older than that one.

    Determining amount of vinyl needed?

    I always over compensate on material and it's always nice to have a good stock lately i have been picking up 24" x50y rolls of red and white vinyl as i go through a lot of those colors.

    I just use a big glass table with a light under it to align my mulitcolor graphics kinda my improv light table
