    Recent Sharpness Issues

Hey all, running Signcut and a US CUTTER TC. For the first year and a half everything was great, worked just fine for what we do. I usually just cut blocks of texts to put on prototypes to simluate printing. Ive never had any problems unless type got too small, but, lately things arent working. Blocks of type, even 100pt font, does not come out crisp anymore. Lines are bowed, never straight. No changes were made in my settings. Below is an image of my settings and an image of what the type looks like. It looks bowed because im holding the vinyl out, but notice the edges of the letters, the T is rounded on the edges, the S is wavy. This is a recent issue. Fresh blade, clean bed, tried different types of vinyl. All to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks- Chris

Weeding Frame only cutting on 3 sides.

Heres what i got from Signcut help: bummer.
  3. Got my cutter up and running, cutting wonderfully. I have the weeding frame set to on buts it not making the fourth cut which makes it a rectangle... only cutting the top, right, and left sides. Any ideas?
  4. And im business. I was putting the knife holder back on the Cutter the way i rec'd it, which i guess was wrong and up too high. I secured it lower into the holder, set my pressure at about 100 and it mostly came out fine, had a problem with the bounding box not fully cutting, but ill figure that out. Thanks again everyone, i REALLY appreciate it all. If theres anything i can do for anyone, please let me help.
  5. Banner John i appreciate the contact with USC, ive been in and out of meetings and havent been able to sit on hold long enough to get someone. Here's the photo, it appears its on the rails fine, its moving smoothly, just looks like the knife wont drop. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  6. If this helps: http://imageshack.us/clip/my-videos/52/i9q.mp4/
  7. Wow i had no idea about setting the pressure or anything- i upped mine to 220 like yours and i get the same. It seems as though the blade isnt "dropping" once it starts. What they refer to as the "Cutter exiting staff" is not moving at all- im assuming its supposed to drop the blade down to CUT. I have a video uploading so i can show it off. BannerJohn and Skeeter- i hope someone at US Cutter is taking are of you all for all of the help youve provided on these boards.
  8. The adjustment ring appears to do NOTHING since the knife keeps getting pulled back magnetically. Heres some photos though: Uploaded with ImageShack.us When this is all said and done, id love to offer some graphic help to anyone as a thanks for the help in getting me going. -chris
  9. I ran a cut and it went all the way through without roughing the vinyl up by moving the vinyl over the right, rendering the roller on the left unused (im wondering what its there for then?) Now to get it to cut, it seems that no matter how much i pull he knife out from the housing, the magnetism is pulling it back in and its just not going down far enough to make a cut.
  10. I took some photos that maybe will help. I have three pinch rollers on my system- the middle and right one can move and i have them lined up over the grit rollers. the one to the left (circled) will not budge even when unlocked and its not aligned over the grit roller. Im assuming this is what is throwing my paper feed off. I also added a photo of the settings on my display. Thanks again everyone- this has been very frustrating. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  11. Hey guys, Here are my settings: Uploaded with ImageShack.us It is now sending info to the cutter and the cutter starts "going." And by going i mean, all its seeming to do is wrinkle the vinyl, knock it off center...etc. I have the TC 25" version and the paper loaded to the left...is it supposed to be loaded to the right. I cant find any info anywhere about how its actually supposed to be loaded. The cutter is making light scores so i think i need to lower the knife...but right now whats killing me is the feed issue i having. Its not feeded in and out cleanly at all. Let me know if i should move this to a different part of the forums, i just didnt see anywhere dealing with the TC.
  12. Im a graphic designer, i work with vectors everyday and have set a multitude of things to be cut up on a much higher end cutter at a graphics place. We decided to get a small one for our office to save some money. My test image is just a bold piece of type.
  13. Yup, have it all set up. Same setup as BannerJohns instructions. Still hanging in space.
  14. Thanks for the help guys, i was missing a driver, downloaded and chose the settings for the TC. I Sent a cut to it, now it seems to be hanging in space, my LCD says "NOW IS CUTTING..." its been going on for 10 mins on a small file. Going on hour 6 now from when i took this thing out of the box- user manual was TERRIBLE. The only good info ive found has been these forums...so thank you to everyone.
  15. Yeah that is the Mfr pulldown menu, no LiYu. Maybe ill try SignCut support. Thank you.
