    problems cuting with flexi 8.1

If its cutting twice you probably have duplicate shapes. Select the shape or shapes and ungroup and/or uncompound, then select the shape (do not drag a box around the shapes) and hit delete, a shape should still be there. If not ctrl-z to undo delete.

Does Flexi 7.5 work with Vista

Version 7.6 works just well enough (vista) that you think its fine, then when you are really into a project and have not saved for a while, its seems to sense this would be a good time to crash, no worry it gives you the chance to save before closing (not) its just fooling with you and crashes anyway. I run a dual boot operating system (vista and xp). All of my sign / design software is on the xp boot side

    cutting small images

See if you can get your hands on a HP vinyl with a synthetic backing (clear plastic type film) the vinyl hold better to it than paper backed and its easier on the knife as you will really have to have a user error (way to much pressure) to cut thru it, also easier on the plotters cutting strip. Most of the big suppliers have at least some their standard colours on synthetic backing

    New Guy from Canada eh

Looking to buy a cutter, I have 28 years in the sign biz and have lots of experience with flexsign, have cut and applied lots of vinyl, of all kinds , and to all surfaces. I am a Journeynman Signwriter and feel I can offer a lot to this forum. I use a Graphtec 4100-130 machine right now (the bosses) and it is a fantastic machine, but cost $12,000 candian dollars 8 years ago. Iam looking for the best bang for my very frugal buck. And because I don't get to see one of the machines uscutter sells in action I am depending on you fine folks for input, recomendations, etc. Regards Mark
  5. I've been in the sign biz for 28 years and have used most of the big guys gerber, wild, muhto, etc. The only plotter I've owned myself was the original camm-1 back in the arly 90's. I now use a Graphtec 4100-130. How do refine, creation, laserpoint and copam stack up to the Graphtec I'm using for cut quality, noise, etc. The graphtec is 8+ years old now and I would hope these uscutter machine would be on par. Do any or all of the machines have a tangential knife option. I will be using Flexisign 7.xx pro. Also has anyone used these machines to plot from Autocad.
