What would you buy with $1000

What makes it any better than those various heat presses offered by USCUTTER? The entire Heat Press category is a lot harder to decipher one from the other than the vinyl Cutters are, IMO. If it was something I was going to be getting into, I certainly believe that a curved Hat press attachment would be something I would want as an option, in addition to just a flat T-Shirt surface.

What would you buy with $1000

Hi, let me chime in here. This sentence caught my eye -- "print vinyl decals and also make t-shirts" First of all, you really aren't going to be printing decals at all, you are going to be cutting them with a plotter (using a rotating knife blade that's in the moving head unit that maneuvers across colored vinyl material as it unrolls through the machine) Purchasing that vinyl material will set you back a few hundred $$$ (when ordering the cutter, you can obtain a starter pack, with 12 different colors, for $199) and also some Siser-brand heat-transfer (for tSHIRTS) sample materials ($60). Then you'll need a heat press, and that opens up a whole can of worms right there, with so many options and price ranges. Figure $300 - $500. for this piece of equipment. Don't forget the T-shirts themselves (listed as "Apparel Blanks" right on the USCUTTER site), say 40 of them (10 in each of the four main sizes, Sm M L XL) and you can figure another $150 or so. A self-healing cutting mat (work surface) is worthwhile, add that in, along with squeegees, a good weeding tool & xacto knife and a straightedge. OK, you'll still have a few dollars left over from your $1000, now go ahead and order a cutter machine, maybe the TC?
  3. Ahhhhh, an MH cutter with excess S T A T I C, gotta love it.
  4. For the record, I always used the RedSail driver in SignBlazer for my MH machine and never had a problem.

OK, I get what you're saying, the problem is in the Port choices (Output) -- just try Com 1.

    Newbie from NC

Welcome. Take a look at this posting -- it illustrates how to create multiples of a small decal (a turtle in this case) http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php?/topic/38737-34in-sc-assemble-with-no-manual/#entry296269

    Hello from another newbie

Mickie, hi! The first thing to do is reposition your farthest to the right pinch-roller stop screw. The SC has a flaw in the set-screw position of the far-right pressure roller. If you slide it all the way to the right, where the set-screw is located to stop it, the pinch-roller will actually MISS (be over too far, beyond) the lower grit roller. I fixed this myself by drilling a new hole and moving the set-screw. http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php?/topic/37334-sc-issue-vinyl-crumples/?p=284146

Fixin to become a newbie and need advise.

Happy New Year, and hopefully it's a very different (better) one than 2012. Since you have a small retail shop, then put up bunch of banners and signs, and let people know you can produce computer-cut lettering at the place. That's what I did, alerting the public that I was here for their sign-making needs, and over the past year I've generated tens of thousands of $$$ from people who just LOVE to have a local sign guy available. At the very least, get a web address (domain name) with a dedicated email account so clients know how to reach you easily, even when the shop is closed.

Fixin to Purchase and needing advise

Not sure what you mean to say here. Anyway, what is your budget?
  12. I would suggest creating the texts, and then using the FOLLOW ARC command (Text menu). Adjust the diameter of the circle in that Follow Arc dialogue box to provide the correct amount of "drop" (curvature) you'll want.

We don't know what the main purpose is either, but we're having fun!!! Glad to see you are, too!

    MH series

14" -- it is designed to accommodate 12" vinyl. Buy the 28" machine, it will handle those 15" rolls (and 24" wide rolls also)

    HELP!

At the bottom, you see there's a LOAD button (Cutter Setup) -- perhaps the missing cutter is available there?

    Cutting problem

By manually telling the machine what the origin point is, there is no reason for the vinyl to advance even a millimeter more and it should begin the cut right from that designated spot.

Choosing my first vinyl cutter, help needed

Interestingly enough, there is a USCUTTER video which indicates that you can utilize their APProller unit to set vinyl rolls onto while cutting with a desktop setup. Watch the Instructional Video --- http://www.uscutter.com/APPRoller-Tape-Application-Roller Sixty bucks.

Generating a ton of .ERR files

I think the problem is being caused by me going in and MOVING files within Windows (organizing my production files in Windows Explorer) while the SBE program is running, and it loses track of the locations, giving me those .ERR files as it attempts to preview files that are no longer where it expected to find them. Indeed, I would have loved for SBE to have a drag-and-drop (move) capability within the OPEN dialogue screen, but alas, that is not the case.

I am seeing a huge accumulation of .ERR files (error files) -- what's causing these?

Help Needed! Cutter Doing Strange Things!

From the photos, I see you're using a serial connection, which is good. However, this thing seems to be sitting on a carpeted floor (that blue stuff) and is likely generating a lot of static (especially in a dry heated home) -- make sure the ground wire is secured well into bare metal (not just touching the powder-coated surface). One other thing to check, is your power plug the three-prong grounded type? Also, using static-guard spray and dryer sheets should help.
