Welcome. Those are pretty interesting questions. Stay tuned for the good people here to chime in with answers........

No PCut model available with 30" width. Same thing with the refurb. Zen Green, 30" not offered. I'm wondering why the MH is inadequate? What's the problem with it?

Smokem indicated that a computer dedicated to cutting is already part of their new setup. Probably purchased a brand-new computer, instead of an older model that has a serial port, and runs WinXP, for $60. Also, for people using SCALPro (not Smokem, who is using SBE) they cannot avail themselves of the option of a computer not hooked to the internet. From what I've seen, the entire SCALPro activation scheme depends on being online to function.

"cutter stopped cutting" Let me just concentrate on this step. What happens, exactly? Walk us through it. (what cutter?)

This reminds me of a job I once obtained, years ago. It was for a big publishing/printing company, and they wanted someone capable of using QuarkXPress (on macs). I figured, hey, how hard can this be, and read the book "Macs for Dummies" by David Pogue, which had a chapter covering the basics of Quark. With that limited info in my head, I applied for the position and by demonstrating my "proficiency" they hired me. Of course, within two weeks, the managers at the company realized I didn't know jack.

Officers pull people over for a license plate light being out. Now, if she was stopped, and had this outfit on, I think the cop might give her a pass ---

And I have seen cops pull people over for it.

Many states' Motor Vehicle laws prohibit this type of lettering. In California, for example, V C Section 26708 -- Material Obstructing or Reducing Driver's View, The code specifically indicates (a2) A person shall not drive any motor vehicle with any object or material placed, displayed, installed, affixed, or applied in or upon the vehicle that obstructs or reduces the driver’s clear view through the front or rear windows or side windows. It then further notes that it is OK to affix Signs, stickers, or other materials that are displayed in a seven-inch square in the lower corner of the front windshield farthest removed from the driver; signs, stickers, or other materials that are displayed in a seven-inch square in the lower corner of the rear window farthest removed from the driver; and signs, stickers, or other materials that are displayed in a five-inch square in the lower corner of the windshield nearest the driver.

If you're happy with SignCut and find it does everything you want, then by all means, pay for it. You can certainly load SBE and check it out. There will be no conflicts. There is no license, it is Abandonware. Don't use the version from your disk, but rather, download and install from here (unzip the file, load v6, then the UK version, and apply the patch, eliminating start-up screen nags) --- http://www.mystat.com/Signblazer.zip SureCutsALot is a hobbyist program, and some Pro users feel is still in Beta (automatic upgrades constantly, which appears to be fairly annoying to many people)

Downforce setting - Why does it always revert to 100grams?
slice&dice posted a topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
Is there a way to keep the downforce on the MH Cutter from resetting back to 100g. each time I turn it on? I want it to rememember the number I enter and retain that. My SC unit recalls whatever was input and doesn't lose track of it. -

I know there's a feature in SignBlazerElements called "Image Cut" -- is that what you are referring to? -
I have seen the phrase 'contour cutting' a lot in these forums. Well, the real purpose of contour cutting (with the laser alignment feature) is to first print a decal and then, cut around the edges. The laser allows for the cutter to understand where to begin, and proceed to follow the contour paths from there. However, what about those of us who are NOT printing anything. Can we do contours around our texts and designs? Yep. The trick is to use the OUTLINE method.

VinylExpress R Series II R31 - Driver, cutting problems
slice&dice replied to GrandCanyonSigns's topic in General discussion
While I have No Clue Whatsoever regarding the specific software/cutter combination you mention, I do have a suggestion, see if it works --- Install the program SignBlazer. http://www.mystat.com/Signblazer.zip It contains good RedSail drivers, and just by installing the application, it might very well provide the needed "push" to get the other program VMP to talk with the machine properly. Worth a shot, costs nothing.- 4 replies

Real Estate Sign
slice&dice replied to sleeveofwizzard's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
I have seen the entire sign (post AND panel, with full-color graphics) offered online for less than my discounted cost for just the post from my wholesale sign supply warehouse. Real estate people are very demanding, need things done INSTANTLY, they monopolize your time, and are hardly worth the bother, in my experience.- 24 replies

It says "Four" Kings but there are only three crowns featured. Where is that fourth King? That's a lot of work you've done, considering you "Just Started" Also, whatever happened to your MH cutter with the operating glitch? Did you get that sorted out?

There is a famous story about an Israeli-born guy who started a computer company in the USA. His name was Uzi Nissan. You can go to Nissan.com (yep) and read about his legal troubles. -
Hmmmmmm, Trinidad & Tobago. I am going to take a shot in the dark here and say that you have a POWERLINE issue. In my humble opinion, the mains voltage is not staying consistent, and is either surging or dropping.

The free-standing vinyl rack (holds 44) is excellent, I couldn't function without it For those who have a bit of floor space, and long rolls, this roller rack might be good
