BannerJohn gave great advice. I've done two borders on banners recently and pieced it together for exactly the reasons he cited. Customer was very happy.

I wouldn't say I'm a pro but I've done several 4 layer designs. I agree, get it together at your shop.

I have a Gerber EnVision 375 and am looking for recommendations for software to run it. Lowest cost for a decent program? Anyway, I also have a Pcut and a USCutter LP. Ideally, it would be compatible with all three but mostly looking for low cost that will work with a Gerber. Thanks for any suggestions! edited: I also have Cibercut and I plugged in the Gerber and chose a random plotter from the list. (Gerber isn't on the list and neither is generic hpgl.) I must've gotten lucky because it cuts everything I ask it to! Right size and no mirrored images. Hope it works for everything I send it but so far, so good. Oh, btw, the plotter I chose was an Omega,

Thats the one! Thanks a lot.

I am looking for the red N with the Huskers punched through in black. I saw the link posted for the vectors for all the college teams but couldn't find the link for actual download. Help is appreciated. Thanks

I have Inkscape on a mac with Tiger. I am just learning inkscape but so far I haven't had any problems with it except it takes a little while to launch. I don't know how the launch time compares with PC though as I only have Inkscape on my Mac.

help with aluminum quote
aaavinton replied to aaavinton's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
thx for the help! Love the sign Dirtracer. Did you do the car yourself? -
I am pricing out aluminum signs. Customer wants 8 of them. Will be one to two colors, either 36 x 48" or 24" x 36". wants quotes for both and wants me to install at jobsites. Company logo is simple. I was thinking around $155/ea. of the 36 x 48 and around $78/ea. for the 24 x 36" Price is installation not included. Let me know if I'm way off. We are in the midwest, lots of competition around but city of about 300,000. I've not done aluminum before, anything I should know?

I'd be very greatful if someone has a fire truck already vectorized, they'd be willing to share. Thanks.

Yes, there is one wire exposed on the ribbon cable. -
Anybody else having problems tracking over long distances?
aaavinton replied to midwaste's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Discussion
I've done cuts 23.8 inches wide and 20 feet long on a 24" wide roll of vinyl without a problem. As another poster said, just make sure the vinyl is straight -

Ken, This picture was taken on the right side of the cutter(under the LCD side) I am assuming this wire should be connected somewhere? This next picture is a parallel cable on the same side, the black marks on it are where it was rubbing on the gear. We powered it up without the bottom cover on and it didn't cut out at all, red LED didn't blink once. Also, the belt on the right side that runs the roller has wear because its rubbing on the outer edge of the pulley, tried to reposition it towards the center of both pulleys but it returned to the outer edge and continued to rub when I advanced the roller. I'm assuming this is why the plotter was making more noise than when I first got it? Thanks
