    DONGLE FOR A SIGN BLAZER

Ahhh good to know, I don't have one of those. Thank you!

    Proper Vinyl Storage

That is very good to know Jay. I have a ribbion holder hanging in the closet of my craft room and I am currently working on the same style to hang my vinyl rolls from. The sticks poping out of the wall look unsafe and I'm short so that won't work at my house. Not to mention if you have long rolls of vinyl that wouldn't work at all. But I use 2 chains wraped around a closet dowel at the top to support metal rods which the vinyl will hang on. The rod the vinyl will hang will need to be a bit thicker to support the weight so my chain will also need to have a more open loop. Here is a picture of my ribbion rack. I've see the racks in the "show your workspace" in the general or off topic section but seemed to me like those guys spent more money then what they had to. They had more dowells then room for their vinyl. Which they probably didn't think about untill after they went to hang their vinyl. I had mine standing up but I crinkled the end and now they are laying down on large bubble wrap untill I finish my new rack. Why not build a A frame rack on wheels? Similar to a ladder rack of what you see in hardware stores containing spools of rope? It would be mobile and allow for a large varity of vinyl and if you set it up right could sit behind/under the table and load directly onto the machine without having to move the roll. That's my next project! Build and A frame vinyl rack. I'll post pictures when it's done.
  3. I need a bit of help, I have been teaching myself how to use sign blazer and inkscape and so far am failing in 2 different parts. I have been using Utube and help files (from both programs)and still cant figure these two things out.... First I can't seem to send anything from SB to Sign Cut or even save it to open in Sign cut. Which is dificulit because I dont understand how to cut using the SB. So what I really want is how to save in SB so I can open and cut in Sign Cut? Second I am trying very hard how to get rid of extra lines. I am unable to find a tutorial on how to do it. The best example I have is trying to cut out cursive font instead of cutting out one word it cuts out each individual letter all attached of course but I don't want those extra lines. How do I get rid of them or what is the technical term for what I am trying to do? Or a step by step in how to get rid of extra cut lines that I don't want to cut. Any help would be appreciated, I went from Cricut to a 24" Laser cutter w/contour so I am in well over my head.

Try having a Mother in law that doesn't get sarcasim! She was standing right in front of me ounce and I threatend to hit her son in the head with the frying pan and she just about jumped me. I mean seriously it's cast iron! Not only would I probably have killed him if I hit him I would have thrown my shoulder out! He is much taller then I am. My husband won't bother texting he just calls.

    Whats your workspace look like?

Wow I really liked seeing everyone's space. Here are my four walls. I have plans to build a small vinyl rack just not sure where to put it. In the mean time I have them sitting on bubble wrap on the shelf, under the cutter. I'm just a crafter so I have more "craft/art" supplies mostly. I'm most proud of my closet. I have a toddler running around all day so the mug by the lamp holds sharp objets while I work. And all the other small or painful items (hot glue gun, staple gun, drill, etc.) are all in the top drawers in the closet and the big box in front of the closet has tons of paper and cards and "paper items" to make the box heavy so the little one can't open the doors. He likes playing with the dowels and yard stick.

    Please HELP!! Multicolor vector issue...

Ok how did you do that? How did you take his image or any image for that matter and turn it into an eps file? I have inkscape and signblazer did you use one of them? Did you trace them? And if you traced them how did you clean them up afterwards so they will be smooth clean cut lines? I want to stop asking people to do things for me I want to be able to do them myself.
  9. I DID IT! AND AGAIN! AND AGAIN! AND AGAIN!! I DID IT! Took me awhile but thank you Jay for the video! I did it!

Home / Hobby work area, DIY tools etc....

Go to the search bar and tyoe "show your workspace" you should be able to pull up the topic. It has numerous replies and photos, some are very impressive.
  13. Hummm the file doesn't feel like attaching.
  14. This file cost was $22 I cut as big as my cutter would go but it wasn't a very big jacket because they both cut at ounce. I can't figure out how to put these two jackets in seperate files. But the file itself was $22. I guess I should have specified to put them in seperate files.

Do you want to trade ferry designs? Or do you need ferris designs? I've read your post over and over again and I can't figure out if ou have some or need some?

    Hi, I'm new

This sounded just like me when I bought my cutter "like the idea of being able to use any designs from computer. " and now I'm able to cut files that I pay for or already find available in .eps format but I am yet still incapable of making my own and saving them into a file that can be cut. I also can't just turn graphics, images, photos and so forth into the files they need to be to cut without paying someone to do it for me or asking the forums for help. Check my profile and that gives you the about me section and some of my software frustrations. If I wouldn't have put all this money into buying my 24" contour lasercutter and the vinyl rolls I need to cut then I would have went with the New Cameo that came out this month. I'm really just a crafter and do very few business signs for family only. I also have done a few cuts for chairty work but the .eps files were supplied to me, in order for me to do that work. Good luck with your decision! And if you ever get stuck the forums have been a huge help to me as I am sure they will be to you if you choose to get a Cutter.

  18. I watched the video Jay and no matter what I do the whole video will not fit in my screen so I have to try to follow the arrow around to see what its doing. So far it selected the piece of work that was in the workspace (pink box) then the arrow went to file then export a new screen opened with different pieces of work inside then to file type clicked eps then tittled the work then clicked ok. After that it showed that the work had saved where the arrow told it to. However when I follow these steps as soon as I change the file type to eps my picture in that new screen disapears. and it saves nothing. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong? Thank you for posting the video I'm going to go back and watch it a few more times see if I'm missing something. mr300s I am going to try that just as soon as I teach myself how to get my SB to save the "files" i create in eps. Thanks everyone for your help!

    Girl in a martini glass.

That's not the same red martini girl : There has to be a way to blow the red glass up and trace right? If I can get a bigger image of the red martini girl can someone trace her and fix her up?? Oh and by chance without haveing to start a new thread how do I just use 1 of the images in the file and not all of them??

    Breast cancer ribbon

Here is the one like the one above with the woman in the center wearing boxing gloves. When she cuts out the hand to the right looks oversized not sure how to fix it. But here it is in .eps The way you worded it sounded like you were giving a percentage of the profits to charity not that you were doing the work on a non-profit basis. But then again everyone has their own opinions on what the read. fight like a girl2a.eps

    please help

Those are cute. But send them to this guy www.vectordoctor.com that's what I've been doing. My time is worth more then what I payed him to do a few clean ups for me. If you get them in .eps share the love and re-post. Please?

I have sent this off to get it turned into an .eps file for me, as I have no capabiliteis in doing this myself. When I get it back I will post. Won't be till after Thanksgiving the man is on vacation. lol. I have done a few different types of fundraiser decals and I only charge the cost of the material. I'm not out to make money off someone else's tragedy.
  23. Kay wow! Thnak you very much for your time. But I have already sent the image into the vector doctor and received it back that same night. You did a great job as well, there's a slight difference in your H and his so ill download it in case yours will work for some other things I might do. Thank you ounce again to all o you for your help it's much appreciated.
  24. (stupid smartphone replied and I wasn't even done) about the vector doctor I had 4 images put into eps. And those problems were solved from there. Next if you read my original post I did say I would accept instructions so I could do it myself.
  25. That was the best image I could find of this yellowjacket. It is the Georgia Tech yellowjacket that our school uses as their mascot. We add the H to the chest. I was so new to this forum I had no idea that the image I supply would be used in a way to "create" what I actual wanted. However I also did not know that there was a website that would supply me with what I wanted for a cost. Had I known I would have saved all these nice men their time and not ever have posted. Right after Vinyl told me ab
