  1. Ok I saved it as an 8 eps file. In sign blazer I'm not sure whether to open or import a file and it shows all these different folders in the box on the right. Where do I go to be able to see my folders?
  2. How do I import a ready to cut file from AI? Also how do I size it? Thanks
  3. Ok I've figured out basically how to get the plotter to work using the serial port. I have only tried cutting text using a couple of fonts on sign blazer. Thanks
  4. Ok, I just got the PCUT CTN900E. This is the 36". I don't understand these instructions that come with it and have never used a plotter and am only "ok" with computer terminology. I have the serial cable hooked up to it and have it plugged into the back of the computer. Only in the instructions it vaugely explains installing using USB. First, how can I tell if I have the cable screwed into the right port and what port that is? I've never used a serial cable. Second, I just want to start by making a test cut so I can see if this computer is communicating. I have only used the plotter to cut the little rectangle by pressing the pause button twice and set the blade height. The baud rate on the cutter is set at 9600 and I believe the same for the computer. Third, on the cutter screen of Sign Blazer you have to do a first time set up in which you select your plotter. My plotter is not on the program that they included with the package and so it tells you to call US Cutter, which I did and continue to get the answering machine... Frustrated!! I know I will have to continue to learn AI CS2 and Photoshop as well as Sign Blazer now but I just want to test this machine out but these instructions suck. HELP PLEASE!!

    I don't get it

Ok I plugged the usb port in and went through what I understood of the installation manual. I'm not sure if it is recognized yet or not. Is it easier to use this with the usb or the serial cable? I can do either one. I don't understand a lot of the language translation in the manual. It doesn't make sense to me but I am not that computer savy.
  6. I just bought the 36" Pcut and I'm not sure what the aluminum "discs" that they give you are for, probably the vinyl roll. If so I don't know how they install. Also I have this thing hooked up using the serial cable because these instructions say that if you use USB then you can't have a USB mouse for some reason so I used the serial cable. From there and getting it to install or communicate I am lost with these crappy instructions. Anyone know? I never used a plotter before. Thanks

Thank you for the help. Do you have the same user name on CESC?

Hey all! My name is Ryan and I am out of Northwest Indiana. I am on the Cutting Edge Sand Carving forum and am getting into glass and stone etching so to help me I purchased a PCUT 36" off of EBAY from the store. We'll see how well it does. I have Adobe Illustrator CS2 and Photoshop 6.0. I'm sure I'm not the only one here that has a question about this but I know the PCUT comes with Sign Blazer elements. How do I take something from one of either of the Adobe programs and cut it? Do I have to buy MORE software or save my images 10 different ways? HELP
