  1. I appreciate BannerJohn's loyalty and pro-company position. I don't think that a buy/sell section would be good for business, but I have to recognize the fact that this community has become far more than just a tech support forum and the section would be helpful, so I am going to allow the section on a trial basis. The rules are as follows: NO COMMERCIAL POSTS NO COMPETITORS PRODUCTS Must be limited to USCutter and related items Ken, please add the section....

    Is it me?!?!

I am working on making our forum more SEO friendly by installing a sitemap modification. Unfortunately, the mod only works with the default SMF theme. Let me know if you guys want me to change it back....
  3. http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/838081/ This post is technically against the rules, but I think that it will be valuable to many of our forum members, so I will leave it up until the offer expires. I am not 100% sure that it works, but it looks like a lot of people are having success. Once you have linked through, go to: http://stores.ebay.com/USCutter-Vinyl-Cutters-Sign-Supply_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQftidZ2QQsclZ1QQtZkm
  4. We definitely will not be refunding purchases or crediting on this. Take advantage of this deal at your own risk!
  5. I added a couple heat presses. I suggest that everybody act quick, as I guess that this deal is not going to last!
  6. This has been in the works for a while. And I am sure that no introduction or explanation is needed. BannerJohn is our newest moderator.

    Need new thread

Ken, Go ahead and add such a section. This does not mean that there will be a free license to post porn! Only appropriate material please.
  8. That might have had something to do with it.
  9. We are running out of space on the server, and so to avoid having to delete old attachments, I need to limit that maximum attachment size. The Max attachment size is now 1MB.
  10. What sort of upgrade would you like to see?

    lcd screen?

Trying looking at it from a lower angle. If the cutter is on a stand, use a chair and sit in front of it. The angle greatly affects readability.
  12. I was under the impression that humidity decreased static problems. What did you do to fix it?
  13. Do you have a laserpoint machine? Does it happen only at the end, or does it consistently keep the knife down? What program and port are you using?
  14. Thank you for coming back and posting this information. I agree that it is our problem and I would have liked to address it earlier, but we seemed to be running around in circles. We had previously ruled out SignBlazer, but I am now thinking that it may be a combination of the way that SignBlazer behaves with the FTDI port. We will concentrate on this. Thanks again. (And believe me, I understand your frustration).

    Blade offset problems

Offset is dependent on the units. It should be approximately .25mm or .01 inches. If your offset setting is in inches and you set it to .25, it will be WAY to much....
  16. The black cable is not Prolific. Do you have the driver disc that came with the machine?

    OPOS unit

It is probably not possible (due to command set on the mainboard).

    Should I give Negative Feedback?

Joe, I have to say that this is something that we tend to do. I was scared for a second that you might be talking about us, but it seems from the thread that it is not. I would have to say, it is a very difficult situation for the seller. eBay has about a million rules and they constantly seem to change. From a manager's perspective it is difficult to educate your staff on how to deal with every little situation. I myself being in charge, only now after reading your post, recognize the hardship that the situation causes you. I just assumed that the refund would place the money back into your eBay account and as such, you could use it to make another payment. The problem for the seller lies in that eBay has had very strict rules on which transactions it protects and which ones it does not. If your transaction is not protected, you will almost always loose if the buyer makes and accusation of wrong-doing. And the transaction will not be protected unless the seller refund payment and it is made over again. So sellers have had to be extra cautious about which transactions they accept (and this is especially true of high value items). Between trying to take care of all the nuances of eBay (which is like hearding cats), it is easy to let some things slip through the cracks - especially when you are trying to be efficient and automate certain parts of your business. I would guess that while the situation is frustrating, it is more the fault of eBay for not having a consistent and easy way for seller to do business rather than the fault of the seller (who is probably a perfectly legitimate seller trying to provide the best product that they can). If it were me, I would take it easy on the seller. - Marcus
  19. Is there any reason why you are using foil rather than a reflective vinyl material? You can get reflective vinyl that looks just like foil, but cuts just like vinyl. If that is not an option, I would suggest a cutting mat with some tack. It is on the list of products that we would like to carry, but we haven't found a reliable supplier yet. Hopefully we will have something within the next month. Another option would be to laminate the foil on some low-tack application tape. Good luck. - Marcus

    Freezing up constantly

For those who are having issues: Have you upgraded to the newest FTDI serial->USB driver?
  21. Please post your file. Also, have you tried setting the baud rate to 4800 on both the cutter and on the computer?
  22. Decrease the blade depth in the blade holder and increase the pressure from the control panel.
  23. I am wondering if this is being caused by an outdated FTDI driver. I have asked Ken to walk assist you in checking the driver version.
  24. Let me clarify some points: 1. The machines are tested before shipping. It is likely that any damage occurs due to being mishandled during shipping. We do not think it is best to ship a machine back and forth thereby turning one shipment into three and further increasing the risk of damage. Shipping the machines is very expensive, so we generally try to fix warranty issues by sending out parts and offering phone instruction on how to replace parts. In this case, we didn't have parts on hand due at the time of issue, but as soon as we received parts, we would have sent them out. I am sorry that we did not have parts available, we usually have parts on hand, but this is an unusual circumstance. In this case, the machine was still functioning as a vinyl cutter, and it is only the laser that was not working. 2. eBay orders are handled differently than web-site orders. eBay buyers tend to value low cost above all else so we have listed our auctions accordingly. We are very clear about our terms, and we take a hit on price due to those terms being less than ideal for consumers. It is only fair that since you receive a lower price that you accept the terms that we have clearly identified. In the event of a problem, we still offer the customer a means to repair the unit without incurring high cost as long as they are willing to spend some time. If you prefer no risk, then buy through our website - you get the added bonus of a longer warranty. 3. Another reason that we have those terms is because some customers have little patience or understanding of how to connect machines. If we were to offer more lenient terms, a customer's first reaction upon not being able to make a proper serial connection would be to ask for an RMA. These terms give the customer an incentive to work with us to find a resolution. In the vast majority of cases, we resolve the issue without problem and the policy helps us cut down on costs substantially. We really do offer a better product at a better price than all of our competitors. We also offer you the choice to decide whether you prefer to accept some risk for an even lower price. I would prefer to be able to offer the best customer service to all my customers, but unfortunately we are in a business that is driven by volume, and some tradeoffs have to be made. That said, we continue to build an infrastructure to better serve our customers. Our product, service, and support will only get better over time. I am sorry that we let you down.
  25. Please reply and include the file that you are having problems with along with: Cutter Model Cutting Speed Setting on Cutter Version of SignBlazer Version of FTDI driver Whether the problem is consistent? If possible, do a few runs without the blade and time them to see if you are getting a consistent point at which the problem occurs.
