glass etching pricing
Mr Peabody replied to dunfool's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
You might want to take a look at this site http://www.cuttingedgesandcarving.com/forums/index.php? It takes a little while to get approved to view the threads, at least it did for me, but it has some really useful information. -
I have a color scanner that will accept 52" wide media, if you can get it on paper I can scan it 1 to 1. I use it to scan large format document (drawings) to convert in to jpg, tiff, pdf or dwg files. Kinkos will do this to, but they are quite expensive. P

I like the PC case, I see you're thinking outside the box - I know really bad pun. Really nice job.

This looks kind of interesting. But I wonder what the comparison is to translucent vinyl.

Here's the scoop - I have a customer that orders windshield banners and his logo's from me. He just placed and order for the usual stuff. Regular vinyl, nothing fancy. Anyway, he has a customer that wants 2 windshield banners for her cars. Here's the rub, she wants 2, both in Oracal 851, colors: 415 (Summer Plum) & 348 (Scarlet Red). I checked Fellers & Sign Warehouse and neither of them list 851. I'm sure it's special order ($$$$$). Does any one know where I could find it, who might carry it. These 2 windshield banners are going to be expensive. The reason, I think, is that the colors complement the color of her cars. That's the only reason I can think of why she would want 851. I haven't called either place yet to see if it's available yet. I just thought I would check with some of the folks here first since you always seem to have the right information and advise. Thanks Peabody

yep Bogart one of my favorites. Ooooo, I'm really ready to watch So You Think You Can Dance - Not! Would you mind sharing the Bogey, Marilyn and Audry? -
Has anyone used the chalkboard vinyl?
Mr Peabody replied to FutureSgtsWife's topic in General discussion
I've never used it, but - You could mount the chalkboard vinyl onto some 613, trim it up and stick the 631 to the wall. that way you could remove it if you wanted. Just make sure you get the air bubbles out. That will at least address your concern about removing it. -

Hey A&P, I found a couple, but not the best. Do you need one to? Peabody -
You could go to the Oracal website and request a sample (8x10). I just asked for a sample of their 951 vinyl, should be here this week. Good luck

Welcome

Hey knucklehead - Thanks for the lead, I'll check it out later. I think that it's just too costly, no biggie. I haven't heard from ya in a while, hope everything is ok. Were you able to get that DVD (CD?) thing straightened out? P

I've used spray paint on a few personal projects with the Oracal mask and have not experienced any problems. You could try using the mask on a discrete area as a test. I don't think you'll have any problems, but that just my opinion. I don't have enough experience to be considered an expert. Post some pics of your project, I'm sure there are a lot of people here that could give you some more guidance. Maybe post in another area of the forum to get a better response. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I've used Oracal paintmask. I've used latex paint and spray paint and I have not had any problems. What kind of paint are you using (solvent?) What kind of surface are you using it on? The blue paint mask is stiffer, 811 I think. The 810 is flexible, when you pull it off it can stretch. Make sure the paint has dried well before you remove the mask or you could pull the paint with it. Sometimes I take a exacto knife and gently go around the design to insure a clean release. It's extra work, but so is re-doing the whole thing. I've always used Oracal, sorry I don't have any experience with the other brands.
