Hey, thanks for the tip. I just did a search and there is one about 30-40 mins. from me. Gave em a call and they are closing and everything thing is 50% off except their paints. I'm going to head over either today or tomorrow and see if they have any cutting mats left. Sorry to hear of another business closing though. P

  8. I was hoping to find a release of liability for ready to apply graphics. I did 2 recycling graphics for a customer. He wants to install himself and I want it to be clear that I'm not responsible for their mistakes when they install it. If they mess it up and need another I want it understood they it will cost them the price of another. Anyone have a word version? I did a search but came up empty. Thanks in advance... P

Anyone have a "Release of Liability for RTA"

Here's one that I sort of came up with, I found one and modified it some what. This is a limited warranty, and <Company Name> obligations under it, does not cover and expressly excludes any claim, damage, loss or expense caused by or arising out of or relating to (a) abuse, misuse or unapproved use of the product; ( installation contrary the the instructions provided. The reason I'm trying to cover my butt is this is going into an office building in DC where there are nothing but lawyers, 12 floors of lawyer!!!! The 13th floor is maintenance. I shudder every time I go in there.... The people that own it aren't lawyers. I'm probably just being overly cautious. You just don't know what people will do these days. Soooo CMA! I like this one, plan and simple. Thanks Midwaste I would never just put stuff like that on the instructions, they get thrown away. I also want it on the invoice. Maybe we could start a link for just items like this, useful disclaimers and such. Call it legalese. Thanks everyone, much appreciated! P

    Paper Party Banners

Yes, I know that I can buy em and have em printed. What I'm wondering is if the printer I have will work on that material and other printable vinyls besides HP. What I have is an ink jet engineering plotter. My concern is jamming up the print head and screwing the pooch. HP doesn't support it any longer. It's just me, but I don't like to offer a service and have to depend on a third party. I'd rather do it myself or not at all. I've put myself out there before in front of the third party and always have gotten the screwed. My reputation gets tarnished not theirs, so I don't work that way any longer. But I digress, thanks for the suggestion anyway. If anyone else has any insight on the materials that I can use in this plotter feel free to send me a PM. I don't want to hijack Aliens thread. P

    Paper Party Banners

I've never done one that long but I do have a 42" HP Design Jet 800PS engineering plotter. Ink jet . I did do a couple of 42" wide transparencies for a customer that wanted to put them on a light box he had. He uses them at 4x4 shows. I used PowerPoint to create the layout and design since there was a lot of text and photos. I think this plotter might be a good use for the "break away banners" used at high school games. Have you ever done any of those? As Soon as I get some extra cash I plan on trying the the HP printable vinyl and banner material. I've been trying to find an alternative but haven't had any luck. HP is pretty expensive and I don't know what the alternative material would be from say Oracal. I can't afford to mess this printer up or pay to fix it if I test the wrong material. P

I want to try this again

I've been using Corel x4 with my Graphtec for a couple of years now with no problem. I use to run the cutter with Flexi, not any more. I hardly ever use it. I cut right from Corel and it works for me. Took a little persistence to learn and just get use to but was well worth the effort. I'm running the "student (educational) version, less $$$'s, I've yet to find any drawbacks. Why not find a good link and view some tutorials, then download a trial version and play with it before you decide.

I need to cut 260 3" felt circles...

Did you look at Home depot? I used felt on the bottom of our dinning room chairs. They might have some for larger furniture. But that's just a guess on my part.... Craft store?

    Made me laugh out loud!!!

There is a factory in Northern Minnesota which makes the Tickle Me Elmo toys. The toy laughs when you tickle it under the arms. Well, Lena is hired at The Tickle Me Elmo factory and she reports for her first day promptly at 8:00 am. The next day at 8:45 am there is a knock at the Personnel Manager's door. The Foreman throws open the door and begins to rant about the new employee. He complains that she is incredibly slow and the whole line is backing up, putting the entire production line behind schedule. The Personnel Manager decides he should see this for himself, so the 2 men march down to the factory floor. When they get there the line is so backed up that there are Tickle Me Elmo's all over the factory floor and they're really beginning to pile up. At the end of the line stands Lena surrounded by mountains of Tickle Me Elmo's. She has a roll of plush Red fabric and a huge bag of small marbles. The 2 men watch in amazement as she cuts a little piece of fabric, wraps it around two marbles and begins to carefully sew the little package between Elmo's legs. The Personnel Manager bursts into laughter. After several minutes of hysterics he pulls himself together and approaches Lena . 'I'm sorry,' he says to her, barely able to keep a straight face, 'but I think you misunderstood the instructions I gave you yesterday...' 'Your job is to give Elmo two test tickles. If you don't send this to five friends right away, there will be five fewer people laughing in the world!

If you have them grouped, ungroup them and clear the selection. Select the baseball player then - On the "Shaping Tab" select the drop down and pick "Weld To" Then select the baseball. This should clean up the extra arc. To verify that is has eliminated the "extra arc" switch to the wireframe mode.
