  1. Can anyone tell me what the default settings for X & Y are for a PCut 630 (24") when you take it offline?
  2. Thanks everyone for your help...I will resume this project on Monday after returning from out of town.
  3. Damn directions led me to believe that it was preset at the factory at either 19200 or 9600! Okay...I have changed the settings and the cutter still isn't finishing the job. However, if I go into Signblazer and select the cutter button it takes me to a view of my project with a blue box around it. If I enlarge the blue box to include several inches on both sides of the blue box, I get a resized image that will be completely cut. So, do I have a software issue or could it still be the USB connection versus a Serial connection. FWIW...All of you have been great!!!
  4. Here is another example. I made the sign even smaller due to lack of wasted larger vinyl. However, Signblazer is still not cutting the enitre sign. It is not cutting all the way to the side as well as the top. Also, the arrow is not being cut??? I know that I am asking the same questions that a thousand Newbies before me have already asked. Thanks for all who are taking the time to re-answer these questions.
  5. No...My baud rate 19200 which is checked by taking the cutter offline and pressing the mode button until it gives you the baud rate. Mine is 19200. I went ahead and lowered it as requested and nothing happened on the cutter end.
  6. I know very little, but I know that the red buttons on the sides will kill a cut. The cutter is cutting the initial outline square of the project and then stopping before it has cut out all of it. I started with a 20" x 20" sign that is now about 14" x 17". The red buttons are not an issue. I believe that the problem is more of a software/USB problem. However, I have already registered the software on my laptop. What is the process of changing out the cutter from USB to Serial??? Would it eliminate Signblazer from stopping in the middle of a project with letters not highlighted in red? Thanks again...
  7. Very frustrated here! Okay...I made it past the initial stage of nothing being displayed on my 24" P-cut other than blocks for the first few months (Why unscrewing the bottom of the cutter would make these go away...I have no idea???) Now, Signblazer won't allow me to finish a project without the p-cut going into a waiting mode. Granted I am using a Laptop with XP and USB connection. So, should I buy new software that is more laptop friendly? Buy a different plotter? Or buy a serial connection for the laptop? Time is money and my investment in this plotter has almost been surpassed by the vinyl that I have wasted in my attempt at completing my first sign...All suggestions would be appreciated...
  8. BannerJohn, There are absolutely no silly questions to me. I am an absolute Newbie to the cutter world. The pinchers are down, but I have no idea how to adjust them. One seems to have much more friction than the other and they are spaced evenyly with the vinyl. I really appreciate the fact that you took the time to help.
  9. I checked the bottom and everything is glued in place. However, the plotter is now on-line??? Very strange??? It even plots to a degree...Except for when it starts twirling the vinyl due to not enough pressure applied where the cutter and vinyl coming into contact. Any quick fix for this??? I know that these are extremely rudimentary questions...but is there a beginner section somewhere???
  10. I am wanting to check the baud rate setting for the cutter, since I cannot get the computer to communicate with the plotter. Neither of the red buttons are pushed in. In fact, if I push either of the buttons, nothing happens. The status window of the cutter displays: Ver4.23 00332512 It will not continue to online status. Any and all help would be useful!!! Also, is there some kind of E-book for Sign Blazer Elements??? (If I have convinces myself that I am somewhat knowledgable in CS3 and autocad, I pray to the Cutting Gods that SignBlazer is not going to be too painful.) )
