  1. With my pcut when I go into the the off-line mode and go to the test menu, and run a test. The cutter just starts cutting all sorts of dashes of different lengths. I remember it used to just cut a rectangle. Any ideas how I get it back to cutting the rectangle? Thanks
  2. I have been looking for a new desk since getting my pcut-25", silly me not getting a stand. Anyways I was at IKEA and found this nice desk with a glass window built in it, perfect for weeding !! Anyways I put the pcut on my old side table so far it looks like this will work out nicly. I was looking for any other ideas to improve the setup, whats your cutting room look like? Also a side question, does anyone have issues when printing a sign longer then like 5" that the vinyl gets stuck on the bottom lip of the cutter and starts to curl up? Any solutions to fix that? My best guess is just put some tape over it. Thanks & Happy New Year!
  3. Damit that's not very promising :'(
  4. I finally got a new blade cutter (from china) and some new 60 degree blades. The results where way better then before but there is still some issue with the start and end spot (both with 45 & 60 degree blades). Its not quite matching up but the cut is a lot closer so things at least weed ok. Seem like for cutting graphics its meh.. ok, but for letters ( specially small ones ) its not so good. Daddy-o thanks for the updates, I am very interested to find out what they find.
  5. p56 is storing my machine for me. Its about 2 years old but has been used very very little I have made maybe 5yrds of stickers. And it was cutting fine last time i used it about a year ago. :-(
  6. Nope how do you do that? Is that on the cutter or in SignBlazer?
  7. x - 25795, y - 25857. Yesterday we did try setting the y = x and didn't see a change.
  8. Your right for the 1st pic ( bottom-right/clockwise). The 2nd pic is rotated.
  9. The direction was Start: Bottom left -> top left -> top right -> bottom right -> finish: bottom left
  10. What are the signs that the blade holder is bad? I am been talking with p56 and so far that is our only idea ( the pen seems to draw fine). Anyone think that the issue with the cuts not completing and the corners still have rounded edges would be due to a blade holder gone bad? Also whats a good way to determine if the cutting strip needs to be replaced ( or causing these issues? ) Thanks
  11. Where do you set the overcut in SignBlazer?

    Pcut Test Cut

It was set on Test 01, if i try any other number the print head just moves off to the left till it hits the kill switch.
  14. Maybe try oiling the blade holder, maybe the knife isn't spinning good?

    Moving: Need Packing tips

Hi guys, I am getting ready to move in a few weeks, and was trying to figure out what the best way to pack up my 24" pcut cutter. I don't have the original box. I was wondering some silly things, like do i need to tie down the cutting head? Should the feed rollers be locked/unlocked? What about the plastic feet rollers? Any tips would be great. Thanks a ton, Aaron

    Moving: Need Packing tips

Thanks for the tips guys. Lucky when i was going through my shed, I did save the foam ends that came with the cutter. I just tapped down the rollers so they don't slide, and made my own box wrapping it in cardboard. Seems pretty sturdy. I will just be sure not to put stuff on top of it Although now that's its packed up, I was just realizing it would have been smart to make some nice big sticker labels to mark my moving boxes . Dang it!

    What To Charge

Just wondering so was that $6 per sticker? or for all 30?
  18. Try oiling your blade. I thought this was a crazy idea, but i had the exact same issue as you. I had some Motor Oil for RC cars laying around I added a few drops, moved the blade in and out. And after that its been cutting perfect, I even thing the blade sits further up now. The bad cuts I think are from the blade not spinning right. Totally give this a try. Maybe others can comment on the right oil to use.

    Vector Magic

Man that sucks, this site was pretty handy. Well I guess if I can't recreate it by hand i will have to pony up the cash, er tokins.. :-
  20. I was reading this thread and agreeing on every point my pcut was doing the same thing. This morning i put some drops of oil ( i used some I had sitting around for my rc cars) in the print head and it prints great now! I can't believe it was that simple. :thanks:

    Cutting Fonts, not cleanly

Wow after reading around in the PCUT forum there was a thread on my exact issue, this morning I tried putting some oil in the print head, and put the same blade back in. I can't believe how much better it cuts now! :woohoo: Thanks!

    Cutting Fonts, not cleanly

Hey, I was looking for some advice on cutting fonts. Or maybe its some more general settings. I have been trying to cut some text but the letters are about 1" high and the cuts don't seem to meet cleaning from the start of the letter to the end. Especially for letters like A and B, the inside cuts almost never meet up and then when i weed them they get little divits in there, not very clean looking. I thought maybe from reading on this board that I need to set the offset cuting in signblazer. I have tried it set to 0 .1 .25 .3 all seem to have the same results. I even tried slowing down the print speed from 60 to 40 to 30. All have about the same results. :bang: Anyone have any ideas on how to get ride of these cades? Thanks so much I have a PCUT 24"

    Whats your workspace look like?

It was $90 - top $60 for both legs, they can adjust so it can be made into a drafting table. My only concern about this is because of this the table top just sits in 2 pin holes for the top of each leg, but its decently stable. $4 for clamp light

    Laserpoint - Networking

I believe since you are connecting to a windows xp machine on the same network you should be able to Remote Desktop to it, http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/tools/rdclientdl.mspx. Once you open up the program just put the name of the machine [ right click on My Computer, pick Computer Name tab, the name is listed there] you want to use into the box. This should bring up a window of the other machines desktop. If you get some errors or can't connect, check the windows firewall and make sure you are allowing remote desktop sharing. good luck

    Bitmap to Vector Website

I just got my pcut last week and so far its been awesome. Anyways I was surfing around and found this great website which will try to convert your raster images ( bitmap, jpegs, gifs) to a vector graphic. http://vectormagic.stanford.edu This might save you some time.
