That's just awesome ... I would love to be able to do logo stuff for myself, especially when Christmas rolls around Hmmm ... maybe I should check into getting those toys for this year's birthday ... any suggestions

Hey Rodger - Mahalo for the tips. I will definitely give it a go. Just in case, I cut an extra set for me to use incase I screw up the first installation. Now I just need to remember to take my app fluid and squeegee. Yah, haven't been in too much of a smart@ss mood lately - which is good ... keeps me out of trouble I've been lurking in and out of forum the last couple of days, not a whole of stuff for me to comment on

This is what I've got. Hope this works. Lucianos.zip Lucianos.zip

I know it's just me .... I was almost expecting to see something that probably needed to be in the "Mature" section. Hahahaha. Nice job Dion!

Kudos Charlie! In this day and age, most people realize that knowledge is power; unfortunately, most also try to hoard the knowledge and prefer to let everyone else suffer in darkness. I commend you for your willingness to share what you have with other. There can never be enough Aloha in the world!!

solid backing vs glass application-letters reversed?
haumana replied to 422's topic in General discussion
Ahh .... so this is the thread that another member referred to. Anyway ... 422, if you still have your cutter and are still having mirroring issues, please check your cutter setting in the setup option in the cut screen. Admitted, while I was a noob, everything laid out correctly on the screen, but when I went to cut it, everything was mirrored. However, I didn't bother the application tape after that since it's not what I wanted. Back to the issue - the mirrored option was NOT selected, yet the cutter still cut it mirrored. The solution was that I was using the wrong cutter driver. Make sure that you have the correct cutter selected. After Ken told me which driver to use, since at that time there was no LP driver, I was good to go and life was great. Give that a try and let us know how it goes for you. -
Were you able to figure out the issue?

are you cutting this or printing this? "thems a lot o' colors with the gradient an' all."

Need a little help understanding how to get it ready to cut
haumana replied to brian08's topic in Vectorizing
Are you wanting to do a double line to have the cutter cut the inside of the stick figure and then the outside? If that's the case, the cutter will automatically do that. What you're probably going to want to do is to thicken up the lines a bit. I'm not able to give you directions on how to do that in Corel, but here's Firemalts instructions to thicken up the lines in Inkscape. Good luck. I hope I didn't add to the confusion -
Mmmmmm ... Tasty!

Hang tough Amber. Yourself and your sisters look like y'all can be a force to reckon with Keep positive thoughts and keep yourself healthy so you can keep your loved ones healthy too. I'm sure your sister can feel all the love that everyone has for her and that will provide her some courage and strength. Just remember to breathe.

wow ... so is the rant about no/low tech newbies, or about business not coming thru the door? I'm a newbie to cutting. I relied heavily on this forum to get my cutter and software running smoothly. I also have a fairly decent technical background, and know CAD. But in the end that really doesn't make a whole lot of difference. If I'm not making money with my cutter, I've got no one to blame but myself. The newbies that want to pack up their equipment and ship it back, that's up to them. It's probably best to just steer clear of them and let them be. We can only help the ones that want to be helped, and for those who do not have the patience to learn, we probably wouldn't want them on this forum in the first place.

Couldn't open them up.

your scar got you some booty? you go john! amber, mahalo for the update. i'm sure each time you're on this thread there must be a rush of emotions for you. just remember that everyone here will help you move heaven and earth to do what we can in our own little way to support your and your 'ohana. your sister getting herself to a better facility is a good thing. she sounds like a feisty one. at least she is wanting to be very pro-active to her road to recovery ... except for the scar and smoking part. who knows, maybe after this is all said and done, she will live a smoke-free life and see how much better it is.

ditto. And even if they wanted them in manageable quantities - just tell them that you are a professional business and not in the process of vocational training. That's like trying to cater a nice wedding with a bunch of kids that are taking home ec classes.

Maybe he routed his "cd subscription" fees through his lawyer. That being the case, the lawyer should have just told him that it was an even $5k/year.

LMAO..................you crack me up.....considering the pic you posted of me was a WITCH!! But I forgive ya sweetie, still love ya anyways!! It could have been worse ... he could have posted a pic of the flying monkey or an oompa loompa I'm just putting it out there, ya know

Hang tough girl! I know that sinking feeling when you get that phone call that is either too early in the morning or too late in the evening. Just remember that you can love your sister all you want, but you need to take of yourself first and foremost. While that isn't instinctual to those who are empathetic, I'm sure all will agree that if you don't care for yourself first, you won't be able to care for others. You will find the strength to do what needs to be done - even if it's through a state of numbness. Like Jenny said, write everything you need to do. And while it maybe hard to think happy thoughts - try your best to keep your sense of humor, a little laughter can do a lot of healing. Keep the faith and the courage will come. My mana'o (thoughts) are with you and your 'ohana (family). Just let us know if we can lend any assistance in anyway.

very nice! so do you find that the app tape lays out better for you when you use a roller first?

I need some help I am really confused
haumana replied to SuperConfused's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Discussion
See ... now where was this when I was struggling ... and slashing through vinyl? I'm still wary of setting my LP to have a pressure beyond 100. I started off with the set 60, the up'd it to 80 and everything works like a charm. -
I actually didn't delete it, I just colored it white.

Here you go ... I hope this helps. Here's what I did. I tossed the shadowng, then converted the image to b&w (in Photoshop, but any graphic software will do). Saved as a .jpg. Vectorized it in inkscape (totally free software, and totally the bomb too). Works on both PC and Mac. Saved as .eps Done. BTW - to the forum! hole.eps hole.eps
-
It totally can be done ... a lot easier without the shading though. give me a little time, I'll have vectorized for you.
