BB - that is just way cool!!! I'd so drive around one of those. It looks like one of the kid's pocket cars that runs on rubber band (I do not mean that as an insult). It's just awesome! FM - that looks like a lot of fun. I'd probably end up hurting myself. Hahahaha.

are you able to post it with a better resolution? That's pretty small.

DOA Laserpoint Not Very Happy
haumana replied to Kaeon's topic in USCutter Equipment Feedback or Suggestions
Hang in there. I'm sorry that your LP was DOA, but as soon as you get a working one, you're going to love it, and then become an addict of this forum (like the rest of us). It's worth the wait, I promise! -

New Laserpoint 24 won't stop hitting the kill switch no matter what I do.
haumana replied to laras4labs's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Are you resetting on the LP or in the software? In your cut screen, do your graphics exceed the previewed output? Check your cut screen setup for media size. -
True that. If you're going to use the external for disaster recovery, than the manufacturers pre-installed software will definitely make or break it. I've never used any of my externals for disaster recovery, only data storage and data back-up. Not to say that you have to rely on the software on the hard drive, there are 3rd party manufacturers that make some great disaster recovery software (i.e. Acronis, Norton, etc.).

It really depends on personal preferences. Like Jay said, there are two different sizes. 2.5" (notebook size) 3.5" (standard workstation size) At the moment, the 3.5" have a much higher capacity (up to 1T ~ more or less 1,000 Gigs), but it does require a power source. the 2.5" drives are up to 320G, and are usually USB powered, however some do require a power "boost," but that is something that can provided by another USB port. As far as brands, that too is another personal preferences. I like LaCie, but they tend to be on the more expensive side. I personally have a 500G LaCie, (3) 320G Maxtor Mini-Touch, a NetGear NAS (dual 500G, mirrored), and several other externals that I clam-shelled on my own. If you're going to need the portability, than I would advice the 2.5" drives. If it'll just be sitting at a desk and really won't go anywhere, than go with a 3.5" and you can get much more capacity. Decision, decisions. Good luck!

Wow ... there are sure a lot of RC stuff here. Hey CZ, how difficult was it to learn to control the RC helo? I've always been fascinated by helo's ... Just now realizing that I should've trained to be a helo pilot instead of doing what I do, which is just about everything. I was thinking about buying an RC, but wondered if I needed to 'practice' with the PC software that my local hobby shop has.

Serial connection failing - USB connection option not found - Pls. Help
haumana replied to 4DPrinting's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Support Requests
If you can't do the uninstall, try reinstalling it over the existing software. If you want to see if your computer can pick-up the cutter properly, have the drivers CD in the CD tray, plug in the USB and turn on the cutter. You didn't say which OS you're using, so I'm just going to guess that it's either XP or Vista, either way, the plug'n'play will want to kick in, and when it cannot find the right driver, use the browse to point it to the CD and the driver should install from there. While the cutter can also plot, it will not appear in "Printers and Faxes" under the control panel. It is just a device you need to select through your software (as well as how it is connected). I'm unfamiliar with Flexi, so I'll leave that to someone else, but you should at least have the right drivers to get your going. -

I think the LP's shipped with the infamous "Banana CD". That should have the USB drivers. -
Serial connection failing - USB connection option not found - Pls. Help
haumana replied to 4DPrinting's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Support Requests
I agree with John. Even though your serial cable is only a few months old, try the swap out on that first. If that doesn't work, it is possible that it's the port either on the plotter side or the computer side. USB is an option. When you plugged hooked-up via USB, was it a direct connection or did you plug into a hub? The cutters run best if it's plugged directly into the hub, with nothing in between. A keyspan is also an alternative. Help us out a little though ... PC or Mac? OS? Cutting Software? -
I'm guessing that you're using Sign Blazer Elements (SBE). I would recommend that you uninstall SBE and reinstall it. It may take several tries for it to take properly. What printer is selected in your cut setup screen? If your computer is locking up, there's a good chance that you need to update the software, or choose a different cutter in the cut setup screen. If your cutter display is only showing black boxes or nothing it all, then make sure that the cutting carriage isn't pressing down one of the red kill buttons on the inside of the cut windows. Keep us posted on your progress, and let us know what does and doesn't work for you.

Looks great. I think you should make your email a hotspot though. Just my 2-cents.

So I will be keeping my laptop and decided to save my pennies for a mug heat press. Can any offer up advice as to what would be a good starter setup? I would basically need stuff from scratch. Hardware, materials, etc. I guess bang for the buck would be the ideal situation. I don't plan on doing it for money - I don't know enough people Just fun stuff for the family and friends. Is the mug press a standard size, or can it do things a little more narrow? Inform me, I'm all ears

I tried to check where to get that stuff ... there are sooo many different variations, how do you know which one to buy?

Congrats on Harry! Keep us posted on your progress... I'll be knocking on wood for you

That's just hilarious.... Hmm ... Has anyone told Paris Hilton yet? Hehehehe.

From what I can tell, the SBE trail is unlimited and only has those pesky "But Now" type of pop-up. Did I get that right? Has anyone used the SB Pro trial? Is that one also unlimited too? I just got a MacBook Pro and want to use it to cut (via XP). I don't have the confidence to use OSX to do any cutting at the moment, but will explore it later.

Could this be causing YOUR tracking problems?
haumana replied to pitts-s1s-pilot's topic in Copam Cutting Plotter Discussion
Hi Hauana ( What does that mean ? ) I got 2 copams & neither came with anything like that . I always leave plenty of vinyl unrolled , so the vinyl in the rollers don't move while cutting . I have never done any decals longer than a couple feet though . The forum has been nice lately , no drama or attitude ( unless I've missed it Rodger Haumana = Student (Hawaiian) The longest run I've cut was about 6-feet with minimal drift. So what's what they're called. I agree though, use them. I'm sure it's been really helpful in minimizing drift, although I've never tried to cut anything without using them Why take a chance, ya' know? -
Umm.... so the thermo flex is not being gripped properly by the friction and pinch rollers?
