When all else fails ... if you can view the outline of the your vector file then that should tell you what is actually being cut.

awesome. thanks.

The audio and video sync's properly?
-
I think I found the work around. I opened iTunes, then Library: Movies, File: Add File to Library. If anyone out there has better software to create "digital copies" of movies, could you let me know. The stuff that I create usually end up have the audio out of sync with the video (the video lags).

I used CloneDVDMobile.

Sometimes SBE take a few install/uninstall attempt. Don't ask me why, I do not know - all I know is that myself and other have had to do that to get it working properly.

Make sure you take pics now! no pics = no job just kidding.

Oh, now you said the 3 secret words... I love my Big Green Egg!!! Atlanta is the Big Green Egg World Headquarters and I go there every year for EggToberFest (Been an EggHead since '98) Their forum (http://www.eggheadforum.com) is friendly and supportive like this one and has lots of recipes. Sorry to hear your jerky got toasted on that go round, but I'm sure you'll have better luck next time Awesome. I didn't know there was a forum for it. I'll definitely be checking it out. Thanks!

You can substitute ground turkey for ground beef pretty often. I use in my lasagna, hamburger helper (I know, not exactly healthy, but it is healthyer), meatloaf, etc. -
That is seriously too small to make a decent vector, no matter how many colors.

Don - If you can, I would stick the pen in the plotter and plot it out so that you guys can get a visual fix on it. It does sound like it might be a one-letter-at-a-time job. Have the app fluid ready

FF - did the file work for you?

There was a version with a "crack" for it, but honestly, if you're using v.6.0.24, then that's the best version to be on right now.

There are soo many different vinyls out there, brand, type, size, color, use, etc. I would suggest searching the forum, or asking the forum which vinyl use and when.

I think you need to find out what font your customer would like to use, or if the want the ford font with the oval, etc. From there you can get the actual dimensions and go from there. I'm guessing that your customer with spaces between each letter?

I just ungrouped and dumped the background

If his vehicle is white, then I would just cut the black and let the paint of the car be the lettering. If his vehicle is black, then just cut the necessary stuff in white. I would only do a black on white if the color of the vehicle is neither black or white. Definitely get a second opinion though

my battle scar (might be too gross for some)

So is the hospital trying to give you another attack so you end up back in surgery? Like they just couldn't wait until you got somewhat settled in? Hire an attorney, then sue the hospital for mental anguish -
When opened I see 1 thing that could be improved from uscutters.Where is sample vinly?Got a new cutter and no way to test it..Why not throw in a small sample sheet for buyers. Because that would make too much sense Different vinyl for different people and different applications. I guess they want you to setup your cutter using the vinyl that you think you would be using most of the time.

Awesome info. Thanks Louie! That tidbit of info will go a long way for some.

I'm guessing his car is neither black or white?

awesome! congrats on the cutter!

A little push in the right direction for the new guy? :)
haumana replied to MecH's topic in Pre-sale questions
If you want the longest possible warranty than buy direct from US Cutter, it'll cost a bit more, but they warranty is twice as long (depending on cutter model). I think for the LP, it's 6 months if bought through eBay, and 1 year if bought direct. If you can afford the space, I recommend getting the stand. Many have purchased without the stand and now regret it. I can't imaging trying to use my LP without the stand. I do use SBE. You can either create the registration marks in SBE or in Corel or Illy. I would recommend you download SBE and test drive it. You can work with it even without hooking-up a cutter to it. Different members use different variation of registration marks, it all depends what you're comfortable with. -

I hear you. I was so excited to get my cutter that I drove out the stupid FedEx facility after they had "rescheduled" my cutter for delivery a couple of times (sigh). If you're the only game in town, then all I can say is, "Game On!" Although you aren't looking to get rich, you sure can make some decent money doing this. There are many on this forum who do this (decals, banners, store windows, vehicle graphics, etc.) for a living. As I said before, I'm only a hobbyist so I tend to give away more stuff then I sell. Although I have had a few paying jobs, and the customers were more than happy to pay. There are a lot of people here (in Hawai'i) that do the decals (as we have a captive consumer base), but I've also had some really decent jobs that I've shipped the stuff out of state. I didn't get rich, but it paid for more vinyl so I can't complain. I specialize in small jobs since this isn't my "day job". I hear you about taking care of the technical side. If people were just willing to learn, they have no idea how productive they could be. Oh well, if they aren't willing to pay attention, they certainly will when you start to do your own stuff and might not have time to help them anymore. Yes, paper app tape (with some application fluid) will buy you some time to adjust the vinyl. I think a member posted that if the graphic is small than 4" they used clear, and any bigger got the paper tape. I couldn't justify buying both, so I bought the cheapest and more functional. There have been times when I did need to do a wet application. You can search YouTube on how to do a wet application of vinyl. You could also YouTube how to do multiple layers of vinyl too. The LP is considered a "budget" cutter, but it will cut your tribal stuff cleanly. Sign Blazer Elements renders the graphics really crappy, but it will cut cleanly and that's what counts. Now the hard part is for you to decide whether you're going to purchase your LP directly from US Cutter or through eBay.... Then you'll need to figure out what to charge your customers - that's always my biggest issue. Good luck!
