    Help with image

I am trying to cut this image, but singblazer thinks it is 3 colors. I have tried setting it to all black, but that just cuts a black box. If I do an "arrange combine objects" on the image it gets all funky and is inverted. Is there a way to make this hardhat just the black line art image so I can cut it? hardhat.eps hardhat.eps
  3. Hello, I posted a while back after receiving my cutter, and then sort of didnt get a lot of time to play with it. No though, I've spent the last 4 or 5 hours trying to get my cutter setup properly. The problem is, no matter what, I cannot make it close cuts. It leaves little entrance trails before cutting small letters, and does not close things like the insides of A's and other quick cuts. Ken sent me a new blade holder a few months back, and that seemed to help A BIT but not enough that it is really usable for small stuff (3 and 4 inch logos). I have tried changing the blade offset from 0.0 all the way to .50. I have tried pressures between 90 and 160 in tiny increments. I have adjusted the blade a thousand times. I removed my cutting strip, and tried with the strip. Currently it is removed. What am I missing? How can I make this thing cut clean so I do not have to exacto EVERY letter in order to weed it.
  4. It seems to cut the text box ok. I will try adjusting my blade some more, but I have tried so many different depths, without success. Sometimes I can get it adjusted so it ALMOST cuts small letters perfectly, but then in the same graphic, when it travels from left to right on long lines, it skips and cuts dotted lines. So to fix that, I have to increase pressure, which then causes it to not cut small text properly.
  5. Ok, well I just tried putting a little oil in the holder. The blade seems to spin fine as I watch it. Here is a movie of it cutting 1/4 letters. Speed 20, pressure 98, blade offset 0.25. (sorry about the bad lighting and focus): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Y5fC40XugQ I have tried pressure all the way down to 40 and it either shreds and mars the design (90-100), or does not complete cuts (and chatters giving dotted line cuts when moving right). (Anything less) Any other ideas?
  6. I posted this in General Discussion under "Vinyl Tags" as well, but thought I may be able to get some more help here. I a using a pcut630 and am having a hell of a time getting it to cut "clean". I have adjusted my blade and played with pressure through two entire 15 yard rolls of Avery A7 with no luck. Basically, I either have the pressure so low it does not complete cuts. OR when the pressure is high enough to complete a cut, the blade "mars" the vinyl design when it first touches down each time. I have attached a picture of the imperfections it causes in my cut designs. These little tears in the vinyl may be small, but they make the finished product look unprofessional and junky. Any body have any ideas? Currently I am using pressure of about 95, speed 40 and the blade is a half credit card exposed.

Well I think I got the blade all set. But I am still making marks every time the blade lifts and sets back down. Any less pressure and it doesnt complete cuts. Grr.

    Vinyl "Tags"

Ok, well I got rid of them by reducing the pressure and lowering the blade in the holder, but now the cutter skips when moving right and doesnt complete cuts. I imagine there is a happy medium in here somewhere. I am using pressure of about 125. How much blade should I have sticking out?

The blade spring seems to be working. When I eject the blade using the little metal bar that came in the holder there is spring tension. The new one just magnetically snaps in. So, there is tension pushing the blade OUT but when pushing the blade IN (like when it contacts the vinyl) it is solid. Is there supposed to be spring tension in that direction? I am using a roll of Avery A7

Hmm, the speed and pressure seems to be ok. It cuts fine. But everytime the blade is lifted and touches back down to the vinyl it makes a little tag or mark in the desing.

I have tried different pressure settings (from 90, where it cuts through the backing paper, to 65 where it seems to cut right) and no matter what I get these little dots or "tags" wherever the blade sets down. I am using a Pcut630 with signblazer, and have set my blade offset to .30. Oh I have also slowed my cut speed way down to 50, doesnt seem to make a difference Please see attachment to see what I am talking about Any other ideas?
