  1. I DO NOT USE SIGN CUT ...BUT ON SIGN GO ..TO SWITCH opps. horz. and vert. it would be under the lay out tab ....does sign cut have a layout tab after you press cut button ,,,,

hey, did u ever do the presentation on using vinyl for screen printing.

  2. Hi MrKaine,

You report two problems but both of them are symptom's from the same cause.

This has to do with that the plotter reference system does not accord to that setting in SignCut-X2.

You will find that setting in the plotter dialog, it is simply named "Rotate". The setting should either be zero or 90.

Above the working area in SC you have the Control Panel which is splitted up of a number of smaller panels, the image panel, the measurement panel, the tiling panel and the plotter panel.

Always set the vinyl width in the plotter panel. To confirm a setting, press ENTER or TAB.

If you use to have a standard width for the vinyl, then make to a habit to press the "Create Tiles" button instead.

It is recommended to do that as soon as you have opened a new image.

If the image is split up as you describes, that should be seen on the screen because there should be blue dashed lines that illustrates eventual tiles.

Tiles could be implemented automatically as you have experienced but you can also insert them manually or adjust those that were automatically created.

To learn more about this, open your personal web-account on http://www.sc-x2.com by clicking "Customer login".

Under the menu Manuals you will find a tutorial.

There is also a built in help. To get it press F1.

    Good luck!

much obliged, will try this.  thanks.

  3. Greetings Gang,

I have installed Signcut on my computer.  The problem I am having is how the letters are being cut out, it may be a simple problem but it is a problem I am dealing with.  What happens, is when I go to cut out what I want to cut out, I click the preview button and the preview shows the top portion of the design cut off and the lower portion is there, then the top portion is placed on the side of the bottom portion.  So first the cutter cuts the lower portion and then to upper portion.  I need to have it so it doesn't split the design and cut it out as a whole.  Another issue I am having, which again may be a simple issue, is that I do not know how to make the cutter cut across the vinly as opposed to cutting down the vinyl.  It goes down the roll of vinyl instead of going across.  Can anyone help?

  4. I have put it together, the stand all.  I have not put the blades on, I only placed it in the stand after assembling the stand.  What I am needing from you guys is help in putting the blades in.  I looked at it and I don't really like the instructions that came with it.  Could anyone help me with the blades?  I loaded the trial signcut but I am going to need help with, I am new to this and vinyl cutters period.  Thanks guys.  I am learning alot from you all.

  5. There are some tutorial videos on the Signcut CD but that mostly shows you how to operate the program. I haven't heard of any other types of training videos but would like to know if anyone knows of one.

I found one on e-bay but it teachs techniques for applying the vinyl on surfaces, which is good.  I am more interested in the actual machine.  I will keep searching and give a heads up if I do find something.

  6. We can only support cutting vinyl with this plotter but would love to know if something like this does work with our product, so please let us know if you are successful with this add-on kit.

since us cutters are so similar to rolands and graphtecs, i am thinking it is possible.  i am interested in getting an engraving kit myself because i think it would be very beneficial.  i am waiting on someone to try it as well to see if it is possible and to see if there are any drawbacks to the machine.

  7. Anyone have any experience with cutting 1-ply heat transfer paper for making t-shirts?  I'm looking at getting one of the smaller cutters for doing this.  Thanks!

    -mark

honestly, i don't think that is possible with any of these cutters.  the cutter will need an optical eye to trace the design, as it stands now, they just carve out the design sent from the computer.  with heat transfers, all you would have is the paper being cut out in the shape of the design but it will be blank, just an outline of your design.  you need one with an optical eye, you are looking at roland and graphtec and a minimum of about $1500.

  8. Hello Everyone.  I'm hoping someone can help me out.  I just got my MH721, assembled it, and am using artcut to do my cutting.  I have been able to cut a successful test image using the cutters "test" button, but can seem to cut anything else.  I imported some simple text from Illustrator, but the problem I'm running into is that, while it cuts it, it cuts the letters way too small (at leasts smaller than the scale I sent over in illustrator).  And, even with small letters, I thought that the cutter would handle them...but when you go to weed, the letters just peel up with the weeding.  I'm new to this, so not sure what I'm doing wrong...and the manual (both online and the hardcopy) don't give much help in this respect.  Another thought...I'm using the cheap crap vinyl that came with the cutter....could this be a problem, etc?

Any suggestions any of you have would be greatly appreciated.

The vinyl just may be your problem.  Did you read the review from signforums.com?  It suggested throwing the vinyl that came with it away, so that may be your issue.  Signforums.com has a review of it but it is the ONLY review I could find on there, no reviews of any other machines, that I could find.

  9. Hello and Merry Christmas to you as well. Our cutters are manufactured for us in China. US Cutter is located in Redmond Washington so if you have any support issues or need parts that will be handled by us.

How long are these units supposed to last?  With normal use, how long can I expect this unit to still be in good use?

  10. Greetings people.  I recently obtained a MH721 off e-bay.  I searched the cutter brand and found this website.  I know nothing about cutters personally, after I came across one and looked them up, I see that it can be beneficial to my company.  I currently own a t-shirt shop and I want to branch out into making personal jerseys and using vinyl on t-shirts as well.

As I stated I am new to cutters and their other potentials, I would like to learn from our members as many possible avenues as possible so that after I become familiar with the cutter I can look at other opportunities for growth.  Thanks for any advice.
