  1. Hey, So been using r-tape at65 and have been having some issues getting 651 to release from liner. Not huge issues but annoying enough. Blade is dialed in so that it I were to back off on force at all it will not cut through vinyl in areas. So yesterday I found part of an old roll of at60 from probably 5 years ago and tried it. No problems at all, peeled it up so nice. Any body having any issues with 651 and at65.

Need a little help with Cobra ink setup

Thanks guys. Lablover do you use one profile for everything. Did a bunch of 5"x7 " white dynasub plates on Sunday and I think the one that had all colors looking the best was poly cloth plain paper high quality profile.

All prints were pressed. Just did a plate with the poly cloth premium matte profile and looks the best yet out of the 4.

Need a little help with Cobra ink setup

So I guess I just use one of the alum plate profiles for all substrates. We never do sub apparel so not worried about that. Did a few 5" x 7" dynasub plaque plates. Did 2 of them on the alum plate premium matte profile, one on text print-r left from the ricoh and one on trupix paper and came out pretty much the same, maybe a little darker blacks on the textprint paper. Then did one with textprint paper with the plain paper profile and it came out with a blacker black but other colors aseemed a lot darker to the point of not looking right, bluey grey looking more grey black type of thing. All three had that sort of mottled surface to them, not a nice glossy shine which I know people get on softer coated metals but never had it as bad with the ricoh. 385 degrees 40 secs transfer face up, fairly light pressure. All in all not to bad for first attempts.

Yeah I have the profiles installed. There are 2 alum plate, one with plain paper the other with premium matte and the same for the 2 polyester cloth profiles and then 1 sublidecal profile. Watched the profile setup video. Just not to sure which alum plate profile is for what type of substrates. Wildgoose which profile do you use/prefer for the 7620 or do you use both alum plate profiles but for different substrates.. Thanks for the link mr300s.
  6. Hey, Pretty stoked as I just received my cobra sub inks for Epson WF-7620. Have all the profiles installed, they are the same as for the 7110. So not quite sure on which profile to use, the alum plate plain paper or premium paper matte. So is the alum plate profiles used for all hard substrates like aluminum, creamic, glass etc. Have been using the Ricoh 7000 with Conde profile for last 4 years and first time with the epson so things are different. What is the best paper to use, I am in Canada and usually use True pix which I believe is the same paper as Conde's multi purpose paper paper. Any advice on subbing with the epson would be great. Really got to love how much money a guy saves not using Sargrass inks, bought the printer and cobra cartridges and inks for quite a bit less than what it was going to cost to replace a set of ricoh inks for the ricoh 7000. Thanks
  7. First he had me design based off his business card, thenafter doing that he changed his mind and wanted the same design he had done on his truck a few years ago so had to go off a shitty pic he sent me. So have about 2 hours into design time. 1 hour drive time. figure to cut, weed , tape, install 2.5 -3 hours so figure roughly about 6 hours all said. I was asking about vinyl prices more out of curiosity than anything. Emailed 2 shops that are over an hour away and they were $350-$380 with good vector artwork to work with.
  8. Not charging $500 and how is it a 3 hour job, read my other posts. He wants the cheapest vinyl I have as the trailer is only going to be around for 1-2 more years he said. Just curious what some of you pay for Oracal 651 and 751, I'm at $33 and $58 for 10 yds where I get it from in Canada.
  9. That is what he wants, explaind the difference in vinyls to him. So with 2 hours design and the hour round trip is 3 hours. Say roughly 2.5-3 hrs? to cut, weed, tape, clean trailer, install. Coaster I get what your saying but you also said this is only play money to you.
  10. Think I will go with $450 but like the way your thinking HDN.Could probably get more, he is building my wifes parents house and asked specifically if i could come to the site and install them as it would cost him a day of work and gas to bring it elsewhere. Thanks for the help guys.
  11. But you are still charging for it, it is just not billed as travel time. Well I emailed a sign comany where my customer would get it done that is over an hours drive from here and they said $375 with good vector art. So going to go at $450 as I had to recreate his design off a pic of a decal on his truck, also had me first design it from his business card first but changed his mind to his truck decal so really about 2 hours of design.
  12. So how would you charge for the hour drive, your hourly rate.
  13. So is that with design, 1 hour drive round trip and cleaning the trailer, job site trailer so pretty dirty. Also things tend to be a little pricier here in canada, material and shipping. Always the hardest part for me is pricing especially never having done a trailer before. Also a 36 inch decal added to back of trailer
  14. Well thats why I'm asking. Just not sure how long it will take and an hours drive round trip. Rural area in canada so for him to go somewhere else is over an hour away so at least a half day of work lost.
