small update. plotter works perfectly fine on my windows 7 laptop. drivers installed just fine and worked first shot. any idea why i cant install the drivers on my XP computer?

I'm using USB. It shows up in the device manager when i plug it in, just wont install the drivers even pointing it right to them.

My plotter has always worked great. I recently built a new computer and when trying to setup the plotter I'm having no luck. I have tried the drivers from the USCutter site, drivers direct from the FTDI site along with Roland drivers. Everytime I try to install them, it says it couldn't. I have tried letting the computer search for drivers and pointing it to them myself. Any ideas?

Well, I guess it's not happening now. Probably for the best. I might play with it some anyway just to try to get better at this.

I don't remember the size he wanted, I think it was about 8" tall. I am fairly new, but have had great success. I have probably run 25-30 yards of vinyl through my cutter with a 96-97% success rate. Would the 60* blade make a difference or should I just tell him I can't do it without making it 3' tall?

Any input on cutting this out? I have tried taking out some of the smaller spots with no luck, the cutter pulls most of the splatter out. I am using the original 45* blades that came with the cutter. Would 60* blades make this possible or can I do something else?

thanks a lot. that helps. im considering making it from scratch though, to help get a cleaner image. im still pretty new to all of this and my knowledge of inkscape is very limited

once its vectored, will sign cut pro cut it out in steps so i can swap colors? i messed with it some but couldnt seem to get the results i wanted

i have someone that wants this as a decal with the words white and the bike black. anyone have any insight on how to do it?

I have a feeling I will end up doing a lot of similar work, I might look into that program if I get enough requests for things I can't handle with my current program choices.

I have been using inkscape for tracing. It seems horrible for any real editing though. It seems to do ok with the tracing, but I couldn't get it as nice as you did. I will have to see how the hand tracing works. I really haven't tried it. Thanks for the info

Wow, that's perfect. What program are you using with this auto trace? Like I said, I am super new at this.

i really only need the outline. i dont plan to do all of the colors

someone asked me about making this, im very new to this so im not real sure where to start with this one. i have done pretty well with some logos, text and simple pictures though. i need just the guy and horse as a one color vinyl cut decal
