  1. I would also like to know if there's anyway to do this in SB.. When you get started on the engraver let me know.. I had limited success converting mine. Problem I had is finding a motor small enough with enough power to do the cutting.
  2. good directions here http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php/topic,3362.0.html

    Single Stroke Fonts

I'm trying to find some single stroke fonts. I know some are used for engraving and machining.. I'd like to be able to use them for plotting drawings. Thanks in advance

Trouble importing .dxf files - HELP!

I'll give you credit.. you keep swinging It's .96" wide x .64" tall, the actual drawing is about 18" w x 13" t. Colors are missing and the dimensions are missing the text and not where they were originally placed. I've spent days trying to get the dxf to work... Thanks

Trouble importing .dxf files - HELP!

That's what I have to do and the eps seems to work. Hotrodz, That the best I've seen so far but a lot of the drawing is missing and so are the colors.. The biggest problem is, the drawing Imported into SB is .71" wide x .5" tall. That's way tiny compared to the actual drawing. SB can handle tiny simple DXF files.. only

Trouble importing .dxf files - HELP!

Yes, it is an engineering drawing.. I'm interested in everything in the drawing. Different elements of the drawings have their own color. That way I can pen plot the drawing, switch to a blade and cut-out instrument openings.

autocad does a better job... it sure should! I don't think SB requires the dxf file be generated by AC to work.. LOL and I'm not sure why a polyline being open would cause a problem.. Not trying to be a wise guy... I think SB just can't handle a more complex file. You'll need to rename the extension to dxf... not sure why we can't upload dxf files anymore ?

Thanks for the offer to take a look at the files... there are several floating around here so I'll try to find them. When it outputs it doesn't give me that option. Thanks

I stand corrected... I can only dumb down to R14. I agree, it is related to the complexity of the drawing. Don't have a problem with small simple stuff. There's a few examples on here... Neither Bruce or Jerry had any luck importing them, both acknowledged a problem.

I've dumbed mine done as well (R12) and I know it doesn't work.. on mine that is.
  16. if you get the blade depth set correctly as well as the pressure.. it will cut the same from one side to the other. Up your pressure.. if it cuts clear through the backer than the blade is set to deep.. 3/16 should cut cleanly IMHO Blade Adjustment-rev-01.pdf Blade Adjustment-rev-01.pdf

    Scratch Engraving

I fabricated a "Carrier" for a diamond engraving bit for my Pcut.. I think the carrier will work fine. The problem I ran into is what ever material I put in the cutter won't move... that without dropping the engraver. Seems the feed roller sets a little below the top of the work area.. pinch rollers pushes it down into that valley and all it does is spins.... Tried 4 pinch rollers and just two... went down to as thin as 0.018 thick and it still just sits there.. and spins. Any suggestions ? Anyone bought one of those kits?
