  1. These are the specs my client sent me: Temperature resistance up to 500 deg F Resistant to aircraft fluids - hydraulic oils and fuel. Be able to feed through a printer - currently labels are on a roll. Willing to consider all print feed options if the right material can be found. Able to be applied to 0.062” OD stainless steel lines I would say .2” by at least 1.5” sounds about right for when the current sleeves are flat. Apply label either by heat shrinking or a high temperature adhesive backing. Anybody know of a product that would come close to this?

    Seashells Anyone?

Hey Folks, anyone on here got a good vector of a seashell? Doing an etched vase for a client as a gift to his mother. He says he wants seashells on it. A quick Google image search turned up nothing of value. I did a search of this forum and came up empty as well... Can anybody help me out?
  6. My wife and kids HATE to go anywhere with me. They roll their eyes and say "There goes dad again with the sales pitch..." I am selling my business 24 hours a day to anyone I can strike up a conversation with. If people don't know you exist, how you can you expect them to buy your products and/or services. I also outsource many of the products I offer. Half of my sales are for things that I buy from other businesses and then resell. My favorite line is "Sure, we do that..."

New Graphics for the New Ride

Up here in New Hampshire they don't require you to have a commercial plate unless you are running a large Class A (?) vehicle. Gotta love NH. No seatbelt law. No helmet law. No required auto insurance... They pretty much let you do what you want...
  9. Hello All, So, I had one of our forum members print up some vinyl for my new ride. (Thanks jfought) I think they look great. What do you folks think?
  10. Promote, promote, promote!!! I am a business card whore... I'll slap a card in any hand available. My wife and kids always quietly groan when we meet new people because I will immediately go into my "let me tell you what I do and how it can help your business" speech... I find about 60% of my business comes from meeting people and forming a business relationship, another 30% from past clients referring me to people they know and the last 10% from advertising. (Vehicle decals, ads in local print media, CraigsList, fliers on local bulleten boards, etc...)

    Home Made Sandwich Boards

All the materials were purchased at a local Lowe's Handi-panel 1/2" x 2' x 4' - $15 each (2) Door Hinges (2) - $4 each (2) Eye screws - $4 package of 12 Snap Links - $1.50 each (2) 18" of brass chain - $1 per foot GRAND TOTAL FOR EACH SIGN - $44.50 +/- Add whatever your cost is for 16 sq ft of vinyl for each color you're going to use (An over-estimate) and you get your total for materials. The whole process took me about 7 hours all told. It may take you less time. I split up the project over a few days. It usually takes me about a half an hour to "get in the groove" so, if I had done the whole project in one sitting, it probably would have taken me 5 +/- hours... That time estimate was for two signs... The client was delighted and I'm certain I'll be getting more work from him.

Cost of materials will differ depending on where you buy them. Some folks will pay more, while others will pay less depending on their location. The time it took me to produce this project might be longer than some folks out there and shorter than others. I suppose it would depend on your experience... I don't believe that I was acting like an "ass" as you so insultingly put it. Previous experience with your posts led me to believe that you would chastise me for not charging the client for my time, the materials, the tools used, the electricity used, the computer used to design it, the gas used to deliver the signs, etc... plus a hefty upcharge.
