  1. well after all this i downloaded vinyl master, plugged in the usb, and it just worked no problem. thanks again for all the help i wish i could have solved it for anyone else who gets this problem in the future but i guess i would just tell them to use vinyl master instead
  2. Yes I'm sending a cut, yes the cutter is on, I'll try some other ones and see but I don't think that will help because the computer doesn't see anything at all on the other end of the keyspan adaptor. The older laptop has windows 10 on it because I replaced the hard drive last year with an SSD I had left over from building my media PC
  3. Well sort of. It mentions the test baud and just like in that other thread it was way higher but I changed it and I'd did nothing.
  4. I found it, Its useless. It shows me the com port which I already knew, shows me the status which is just idle untill I send a job to it in signblazer and that's it. The computer is finding the keyspan fine it's just not recognizing the cutter on the other end.
  5. i dug out an old laptop that had a disc drive and installed the drivers from that. Turns out the assistant is part of the overall install and theres just no icon for it you have to search for it. Anyway long story short it still doesnt work. I appreciate everyones help. I was really hopping to get this working before fathers day because my dad asked me to cut out some vinyl strips for his motorcycle but i guess i will just have to cut out templates on my laser then cut them by hand. If anyone has any other ideas or can figure out why the computer doesnt recognize the cutter when its attached to the keyspan feel free to let me know but at this point i feel bad for continuing to take up your time.
  6. i cant find that anywhere. It certainly isnt on tripp-lites website. Maybe it came with the disc but i have no disc drive
  7. it just has driver downloads thats all. And unfortunately it works perfectly for the trials, thats why I went a head and bough sure cut. it wasnt until i got the full version that it had issues.
  8. How do I set it on the keyspan I don't have any interface with it.
  9. Yes in signblazer com selection I can actually see the keyspan listed. It says com 3 then following that is the name of the keyspan. And yes it's one of the redsail cutters. There are a few options of them I chose the redsail 720.
  10. okay my adapter came in and i installed the software for the tripp-lite but now the cutter isnt working at all. I can see the tripp-lite in signblazer and send it the cut but then it just fails. I can also see the tripp-lite in sure cut but when i hit test connection nothing happens.
  11. Yup so I need a male to male adaptor so the screw threads are sticking out as well as the pins. Its very annoying you can get serial cables with screws or nuts with ether the male or female ends, probably should have just standardized them
  12. Just an update I got the Tripp lite adaptor and serial cable but I didn't realize I need to change the gender of one end of the cable. So I ordered yet another adaptor. Hopefully should be here tomorrow, luckily I live close to an Amazon center. I went screw to screw for now, if I have issues I will get more invasive
  13. I did, it makes a star and it works fine. I didn't touch the blade depth though. I did see a few things saying it should be half the with of a credit card but i figured once I got this sorted I would do that next. How would you check the blade height?
