    Why does this happen?

I grabbed it off the net and got it to work for you. Since it has a copyright I couldn't post it here.

    Weeding and registration marks

Yes add them manually. Click on your finished design and then click Objects and you can add them.

    Weeding and registration marks

Not sure about the weed lines, haven't tried it. As for the registration marks, once you add them you can size them like art. Or click some where else to unselect them. Once you do that you can double click individual ones and move them like any other art. Hope that helps

    Why does this happen?

When I open the file I only have the black layer with the large box around it, pic 1. In wireframe I can see a faint second image but cannot select it unless I click Edit, Select All. Then I can size the 2 together but the large box is still around them which I don't understand. That usually only happens if there is something in that area to cut. I tried Arranging them and pushing the black image to the back and to the front and that does nothing. I also selected all and changed colors a couple times to see if there was something hidden to the right causing the size box to be so large, nothing. Maybe you could post your art file so we can see what we are working with unless one of the gurus can help you more from this.
  5. Thanks for the heads up slice&dice. The guy is just starting out and is trying to cut costs where he can so I was looking at 651. I'm glad you said I needed cast or I would have looked like the newb I am. And I am not trying to peel and redo anything for free. I'll also grab that squeegee while I'm shopping. I was looking at the torch and tennis ball method but was buying a rivet brush too. Thanks again for the input, much appreciated.
  6. Hi again, I hope you are all well and in good spirits. I am quoting a trailer job, new trailer nothing to remove. I would like some input on my pricing if you don't mind. The signage would be on each side 60" x 50" and the front 43" x 38" Then an American flag which I make and "Veteran Owned and Operated" under that measuring roughly 15" x 22" total, on 2 sides Mostly text with a few clip art graphics. No layering of colors or intricate cuts. Below is a breakdown using the suggested formula I found on here. Black - 164" by 30" = 194/2 = 97 Blue - 176" by 15" = 176/2 = 88 Red - 204" by 17" = 204/2 = 102 White - 44" by 15" = 59/2 = 29.5 Total $316.50 Labor 5 hrs @ $40 per = $200 (will probably take me more since this is my first trailer and those rivets will tie up time) $516.50 He also wants a couple door magnets which I have 2 of 12" x 24". Smaller version of the signage but less busy. I was thinking $20 each on those and just round the quote out to $550.00 I know he talked to the only other shop in town and they do mostly wraps. His wife said the guy was really expensive so I figure I have a good shot at my first real gig. But I also don't want to be so cheap he thinks I don't know what I am doing and goes to the big guy if that makes sense. Thanks for any input, advice, or corrections on how I came up with the numbers.
  7. I played around with it and welded the outline to the heart. That gave me the heart and the letters outside of it. I added the text and outline again and tweaked here and there and it printed perfectly. Being able to do something like this without pulling whats left of my hair out goes a long way. Thanks again for your help.
  8. Thank you for the responses. I'll play around with welding tonight and see what I can figure out. Its all 1 color, the black is just the color I chose for the outline since it will be on a black shirt. It cuts the outline perfectly so I was happy with that, 1st time using that feature. Thanks again for the help.
  9. Hello all, As you can guess I am pretty new to vinyl cutting. I am using VM Cut 4.2 and am trying to get my image to cut the outlined text, which it does, and the heart, which it does. But without cutting the entire heart outline and cutting right through my lettering. I'm sure you already know what it is doing and what I missed. But I screen shot a couple pics for reference in case I wasn't explaining myself well enough. I will be doing this project with HTV on black shirts just for reference. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. Regards, Rob
