Not sure which way to go?

Still trying to get my head around it all.. So laser and ink jet basically print onto a vinyl and the vinyl sticks to the fabric? Does the inkjet laser paper have to be a solid piece? I know you can contour cut around the edge but what if the design has places where the t shirt fabric is seen through the design? Would a vinyl cutter cut those pieces out as in a normal HTV vinyl. For example a letter O ? Would it be able to cut out the centre of the O or would it be left white inkjet/laser vinyl ? While sublimation prints onto a sublimation paper and it's just the ink/dye that transfers over?

Not sure which way to go?

Having a read up on them all, one downside I see is sublimation printing has to be done on white t shirts? Not really a fan of white t shirts I can see it been great in promotional wear. Cheap and cheerful. But for t shirts that you would want to wear yourself in different colours it seems limited also the t shirt having to be polyester and not as much choice as cotton in different styles? After reading up on them all it seems laser is winning at the moment.

    Bad spelling?

Good idea! Im trying not to get involved. Its for or was for a charity meal and everybody got a free bag at the end, but with the lockdown its been cancelled

I have an Epson ET2550 eco tank printer sat next to me with a dodgy print head, ( it leaves lines in the black print) Every printer ive owned seems to die on me after a few years with streaky heads?

    What's the best method?

I always find printers a pain, ive got a pile of printers at home! I sometimes dont use them for weeks and when i do the the heads need cleaning etc after a while i give up and buy a new one. Does sublimation ink clog quicker than normal ink So how do people print on darker coloured t shirts ? Can you buy printable HTV vinyl?

    What's the best method?

Hi thanks I have a Epson ET 2550 eco printer which i could convert to sublimation printing? Whats the difference in quality in sublimation and inkjet paper printing? better stronger colours?

    What's the best method?

ok will look into sublimation printing. My supplier seems to do only one sublimation tshirt for printing? out of several hundred tshirts? So sort of fabric is suitable? i assume it has to be white? Also what mixes or is polyester the best to print onto? After a quick look seems sublimation or inkjet paper too? What are the pros and cons of both?

    What's the best method?

Ok thanks i may scrap that idea! Can you sublimation print on paper and tranfer onto a tshirt? Then put the letters on over the top in vinyl? or would that be pointless? I just thought vinyl letters would stand out more over the ink?

    What's the best method?

ok i did one as an artwork piece. In normal vinyl, stuck to a board. I stuck LED neon on the POW letters and it looked really good. So i thought id do same design in HTV vinyl The pink outline would be black, also the green outline would be black. So black, red, blue and yellow vinyl

    What's the best method?

Something like this, the colours are not correct but it would take 6 layers ?

    What's the best method?

but how many layers are possible
  12. Dont know why this is happening but I'm using vinylmaster DSR and a liyu DF631 cutter I can cut a design and then load another one and when I click cut now nothing happens. It let's me go right to the cut now pop up and the only way round it is to turn the cutter off and send it again and cut now? Then it works?

    Why does this happen?

In the uk it seems only a couple of places that sell them. Signzworld is one and they have a very knowledgeable person doing the live chat on their site. I've asked random questions live before to them and they come back with a instant answer. Due to the lockdown the live chat is not manned at the moment

    Why does this happen?

Not sure why the USA is not getting any of the newer LIYU models? LIYU models seem to be from bottom to top model: SC TC DC DF (servo model) HF Even the new version of the cheapest model the SC has a 1GB memory, it used to be 1mb. Maybe you have been upsetting the Chinese again?
  15. dvddvd

    Why does this happen?

The LIYU DF cutter has ARMS LIYU DF but also is a servo motor model for £679 The other 2 models under it both have ARMS but stepper motors instead The LIYU DC cutter has ARMS LIYU DC with ARMS for £527 Also the LIYU TC cutter has ARMS LIYU TC631 with ARMS for £396 All have the same motherboard and a 1GB memory. When i bought the cutter my model was not listed and was told to use either the DC or TC model software The Lazerpoint cutters on UScutters have the same carriage as the LIYU models so i assume they are very similair or just rebranded. The DF model is quite a new model

    Why does this happen?

It seems to work like a dream, except for this question. Its my first cutter and never used one ever before, i didnt even know they existed. Its so far cut with ease every thing ive asked it to do. Its super quiet and fine detail to less than a mm.

    Why does this happen?

Its basically the same as a Liyu DC, TC 631 was told it had the same motherboard when setting up the only difference is that it has a servo instead of a stepper motor Liyu DF631

    Why does this happen?

So maybe I have to reset everytime? Then set point of origin afterwards? Sometimes it's fine, sometimes its not
  24. dvddvd

    Why does this happen?

I do set a new origin point everytime? What I was saying is I set a new point of origin everytime and then press cut. If it dont cut and I have to press reset I have to set the point of origin again after the reset?
