    Why does this happen?

It seems one of the objects if you select it, is in a really big dotted line box? Instead of a close to the object dotted line around it, it has a dotted line box 3 x bigger than itself? So when i was trying to group all the objects I was not drawing the group box around all of the objects? So how do i make the object box smaller? If I grab a corner and make it smaller the object becomes smaller too ? Thanks

    Why does this happen?

If you go into wiremode view the objects are still there but the dominent layer seems to be covering them ? Thanks

    Log of vinyl ?

I was looking on a vinyl supplier site and you can buy the vinyl by the m or by the log? What is a log? A full roll? It was 50m Thanks
  4. I have to cut some long height charts around 6 foot in length and all horizontal lines. Since they are height charts dont want them drifting off..So hows the best way to ensure the vinyl is straight in the machine? Also any tips of keeping it running straight while it cuts ? It s 2 foot wide vinyl? thanks

Only one correct side of the road! We also use the word "log" for something you can be proud of after breakfast.....

  8. Hi I want to cut some 24 inch x 60 inch wall art from vinyl and then apply the application tape to it. Ive done smaller pieces before with 12 inch application tape but never with 24 inch wide application tape. Is there any tips to make it easier or any rigs that can be made to make it easier? thanks
  9. Hi everybody. I want to be able to type some text in Vinylmaster or select a logo or art work etc Then save it and in Photoshop open up a photo of a room with a blank wall and place the text on the wall to see what it looks like? I tried converting it to a jpeg bitmap and when i placed it onto the image in Photoshop it was there but a white square behind the text not a transparent background? thanks Just had another go and when the pop up box appears when you want to export there is an option to have the background transparent but it does not allow you to select this choice?

Any tips on application tape, fixing? wide stuff!

Thanks I've ordered one and see how it goes? If the work was 6 foot long would I be able to pull out 6 foot of application tape and then stick it at the end and then work toward the roll with a squeegee?

    clear or paper application tape

What are the pros and cons of both types and what would you use for wall art? Seems both are medium tack ? Thanks

    How would i do this?

It works great on wall photos i have where the wall is dead on facing you, but a lot of the empty wall photos are taken on an angle? I have used the Photoshop vanashing point tool before when i added picture frames to the walls. You make the grid on your wall and when you add your graphics etc and it makes the graphics or logo etc fade out to the angle of the wall ie the front edge will be longer than the back edge (sorry a not very good description!) a vanishing point.... So if I wanted to do that how would i remove the background to graphics in Vinylmaster to add them to photoshop? thanks

  16. I have some multi coloured tshirt t shirt designs. That I want to use with HTV I could cut them so each layer sits on top of each other. Or would I be better trying to keep the layers to a minimum. For example if the lettering has a drop shadow would it be better to cut the drop shadow as a solid black and then put the lettering on top? Or would it be better to cut just the shadow part and piece it around the lettering? The design has over 6 different layers that could be laid over each other for ease or each layer cut around each other...the cutter would have to be spot on so no gaps if slightly out..
  17. I want to print onto some tshirts more hobbiest at the moment. After reading up on best way to go, it seems i have a few options. Ink jet printer: Printing onto special inkjet transfer paper, quite cheap to set up but always the chance of nozzles blocking due to me not printing everyday? Laser printer: Printing onto special laser transfer paper, quite cheap to set up and no chance of the nozzles blocking? (ive owned a mono laser printer before and was impressed on how easier and trouble free it was but unsure about quality in t shirt printing) Sublimation printing: Printing onto special sublimation transfer paper, quite cheap to set up and again could get blocked nozzles? But seems to give best results? Solvent printers Out of my price range So how do I choose which one? I would be spending around £300 which would let me buy any of the top 3. As I stated i would be only using it now and then so dont want to buy one and its stood for a few weeks and then the heads blocked ( Ive owned so many printers in the past) Which would give me the best results? Which is most trouble free? Which is cheapest to run in inks etc ?
  18. If I had a cotton tshirt and used a laser printer to print onto some laser transfer paper and heat pressed the design onto the tshirt. Could I add some font over the top in high gloss HTV. So it gives it a more 3D effect? So the first image would be matt and the font would be high gloss?

    Multi layer vinyl?

I have made a multi layer design for a piece of artwork and trying to decide the best way to apply it? I could apply the first one and then each one afterwards or tape the first one onto a table and apply each one on top of each other and finally apply the finished design to the board? I think I will have to use a wet method so I can line each piece up? I only have water and soap spray? How much soap? So do I apply the finished multi layered piece to the board in one or each bit separately? The first piece is a solid block and the others sit on top of it thanks

Not sure which way to go?

If bought from ebay so not Xerox they are £49.00 for a set of 4. With a black page yield of 5500 and colour 2400. You do get a set of toners with the printer but half the size yields.

    Bad spelling?

After telling a friend that I'd just bought a vinyl cutter he informed me his wife had just had 50 bags printed up. I asked to have a look and they were smart looking bags with zips and a clasp holding the bag shut. She had the words " we are all beautifull " in big letters on each one! I'm not the best speller in the world but surely someone should have picked up Beautifull with 2 Ls before printing £750 worth of bags? She was happy didn't have the heart to tell her..

Not sure which way to go?

Many thanks. I have a Liyu cutter with ARMS. Im leaning towards a laser printer. Their prices seem to have dropped a lot? No more blocked heads etc Was looking at a xerox 6510 which can be bought for £140 Full colour laser A4 printer with 1200 x 2400 dpi resolution
