  1. Hi, I've recently got a MacBook pro and was wondering if anyone knows if it's possible or how to cut directly from the Mac using a Titan3 vinyl cutter. In the past i've been able to cut directly from illustrator on my PC but that machine is knocking on deaths door and was hoping I would be able to cut directly from the MacBook. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  2. how does the plug in for SignCut work with Illustrator. Do you do the design work in illustrator then transfer it to SignCut then open SignCut and cut it from there?
  3. Yeah those are looking like the only two options as of now. It's just weird that the cutter seems to definitely be communicating to some extent with the Mac directly from illustrator but not to the point of cutting.
  4. bikemike - yes i downloaded a plug in from Saga CNC that worked on the PC. Apparently the Titan is a rebrand from SAGA. MZ Skeeter - I'm not entirely sure. This one is a few years old and was in a different department. The belt broke and no one wanted to mess with it so they ended up getting something different. I took it upon myself to replace the belt and like i said got it running on a PC but I'm not using a Mac as the PC is essentially dead.
  5. I have only used Illustrator. I set up the Vinyl Cutter as a printer on the Mac. When I open Illustrator and try to print from it the cutter does make some noises but doesn't actually cut anything. I've seen it says the cutter is Mac compatible but i seem to be missing something to get it to actually cut.

    Titan 3 Cutting Issue

Hi, I have a Titan3 that i'm using Easy Cut Studio to send artwork from to the cutter. I do my design work in Adobe Illustrator and export it from there to Easy Cut Studio. When I try cutting something it cuts the design out but it also cuts random horizontal lines across the design making it useless. Has anyone ever seen this or know how i could go about fixing it? Thanks,

    Titan 3 Cutting Issue

the com issue in the device manager that was confusing to me. so i went to the work station where the other titan3 is set up and working with vinylmaster cut. i went into that computer's device manager to see if anything was listed under the Ports and there wasn't even a Port section in there. I then went to devices and printers and saw something that said Saga Plotter Cutter but it was listed under "Unspecified Devices." This caught my eye because someone MZ Skeeter had mentioned earlier that the Titan3 is a rebrand from Saga. So then I googled Saga drivers and on their page there was a simple "Plug In for PC" that i downloaded and installed (.exe). Literally just went into illustrator and clicked File-Print and chose Cutter from the drop down menu when selecting the printer and it cut the design normally

    Titan 3 Cutting Issue

well i'm only connecting it via USB so i would need to buy a serial adapter i believe to get it show up under the COM ports in device manager

    Titan 3 Cutting Issue

nope, i'm thinking the titan3 cutter we have isn't very compatible with other programs. there aren't any drivers that i can find for it where it can be added as a printer which seems to be the hang up.

    Titan 3 Cutting Issue

I tried messing with inkscape yesterday but i'm not sure if there's a way to add the Titan3 as a printer or whatever so i'm able to send the design to the cutter.

    Titan 3 Cutting Issue

thats probably the route i'll end up taking. you would just think in 2019 and the price of illustrator you would be able to cut out a secondary program to just cut some vinyl. oh well.

Is signblazer free or is it a demo and you have to pay for the full version?

    Titan 3 Cutting Issue

yea thats what we have at work, it's already installed at one work station. We have a 2nd cutter now and I"m not sure how many computers it can be installed on using the same serial number. so i was looking for alternatives just in case.
