Thank you, Wild Goose. I will try these suggestions and let you know how it goes.

My blade looks fine. I'm using USCutter Titan Edition of VinylMaster Pro V4.0, and what I cut are all .vDOC files consisting of lines of text. This is my first year of using a cutter and I am slightly techno-challenged; I have never been able to figure out if there's a way to cut the text without the boxes around each letter. And no, my vinyl is probably two or three months old plus shelf time... Thank you all for your help; maybe I'll try getting some new vinyl.

That is exactly the procedure I followed. That's why I'm at a loss; perhaps it is happening because this roll of vinyl is the last one I have on hand so it's been here for a few weeks. Maybe it has absorbed too much humidity? Is it better to peel the vinyl right away, or wait a certain amount of time? Thanks again for your help!

Of course not; I've been making these decals with this cutter for over a year. I set the blade so that it's barely sticking out, tested it with my finger, cut a line by hand in my vinyl with it and then ran an actual cutting test. I peel off the vinyl pretty much as soon as it's cut. Someone suggested trying a squeegee before peeling off the vinyl; I think I'll try it. Can you walk me through testing the blade depth with the software as well?

Yes, I do use weed lines and normally I lose no letters or one or two every once in awhile. But today it's just not cutting properly...

Thank you; it appears to be lifting normally, and I am using a new roll of vinyl.

Our Titan 3 with VinylMaster software is cutting a test just fine, but not a sheet of lettering; about a quarter of the letters and numbers are peeling off with the vinyl. I have adjusted the blade depth, force and made sure the rollers are tight and lined up. What else should I check for, please? Maybe try slowing the cutting speed? Thanks for any help you can give me :-)

    Tital 3 squeaking while cutting

    Thank you; I'll try it!

    Tital 3 squeaking while cutting

It seems to be emanating from the blue plastic unit that holds the blade cartridge (is that called the servo?).

I meant Titan 3, not Tital
  11. My 53" cutter is squeaking the whole time it's cutting - any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
  12. Thank you very much. This is very helpful; I have absolutely no aptitude for mechanical stuff, so I really appreciate your guidance.
  13. Thank you. The only thing Casey at US Cutter had me do differently to set the blade offset was cut through Post-It notes instead of the vinyl - it's supposed to cut through the first two, which it did. The test cut was fine as well. For now, cleaning that plastic strip seems to have done the trick; if I ever have to run the blade offset calibration in VinylMaster, I will check this forum or call Support. (I use my cutter to make decals (lettering) to affix to the sides of boat trailers - that's what we manufacture here at Wesco.)
  14. Thank you. It's VinylMaster software; I don't have my camera (phone) atm but I am sure the characters being cut incorrectly was due to some gunk on that white plastic strip along the cutting surface. Casey helped me set my blade depth last Friday, so I had that down. I was trying to run the blade offset calibration just to be 100% sure I had everything set up properly, but once I cleaned that surface, the cutter isn't "messing up" any characters along the right edge. My main concern is why the blade offset calibration procedure seemed to be "stuck" at 9.75% progress.
  15. First time submitting here - how long should calibration take? My Titan III was messing up just the characters near the front right edge of the vinyl plus one or two farther down the right edge. I fixed the blade offset, made sure the rollers were lined up, tightened the thumbscrews and I have the cutter set up with the edge of the vinyl 1" from the right side. Then I cleaned the surface under the vinyl and believe I discovered the problem, but now calibration is taking forever!! How long should it take, and is there anything I'm missing? Thank you in advance for your help!
