    I know this post is 2 years old, but I was running into this issue with 3M gloss laminate and I found a workaround, so I thought I would share. My Sensor levels were at the recommended 70 and 80. I went into the menu>ARMS> pushed the ^ until I saw sensor levels, maxed them out at 80 and 90, and then set them. Then I went back in and set them back to the optimal 70 and 80, and it reads like normal again. Just thought I would share what I did to get around this issue in hopes that it helps someone else. I was ready to set the plotter on fire there for a minute.
