It seems there was an issue with the carriage from the time we got the cutter. USCutter replaced the entire thing, and the new one works great, no issues at all! Great customer service!

The blade depth is set to barely scratch the backing, no issue with weeding or anything else, just dragging between cuts

We have a new Titan (1) cutter, and it drags the knife quite often, scratching the vinyl between cuts. It isn't raising the knife all the way, like the spring is too weak? It often scratches the vinyl even when doing an area test. My husband can lift the knife carrier up... probably 1/4 of an inch, but it's irritating when we're cutting a job. Any known fixes for this issue? We plan to call customer service tomorrow, as the machine is only 2 weeks old... TIA!
