    SC power/blinking problems

Hi all, Just posting here to add to the pool of information so others following my path will have another data point. I've used my SC 34" four times ever. It's been powered on for about two hours in its life. I needed to so some window signs for a low budget film shoot and fired it up. The LCD just blinks and the blade just bounces up and down about once a second. Bump bump bump bump. Checked over the machine, made sure the IEC power cable was good, and read up on here it was likely a bad PCB. Ordered a PCB (and some other bits) and two days later it arrives. Swapped it out. No change. Since I had it off the stand I loosened the other panel and checked out the PSU side. The first thing I noticed was that the ground wire from the IEC socket was just hanging out loose inside the case. The second was that when powered the PSU was making a quiet bzzt bzzt noise in time with the thumping. Pulled out the multi-tester. The PSU is a global 85-264V input SMPS, with outputs rated as: 38V 1A 5V 1A 12V 0.5A. I confirmed continuity of ground (now I'd fixed it) then checked the output voltages. The 38V was varying between 32 and 38V, the 12V and the 5V were both varying between about 2.5V and 6V. The PSU's a dud! I've ordered a replacement and will update this post when it arrives.
