last year a forum member contacted me, he was looking at an FC8000 that was up on Fbook marketplace. He had to drive a couple hours to look at it. An older man had it. It turned out to be a brand new machine, still in the box. He got it dirt cheap. So keep yours eyes open and do some searching, and have the money ready. There are still good deals out there. Where are you searching from CharlesV? Are you close to Iowa? This is a great deal. Many people don't have room for the bigger cutters, or think that they don't need one that big. I have always had 30" cutters. I create designs to cut that big. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/897859077639622/?ref=search&referral_code=undefined Indiana, dirt cheap Graphtec FC7000 https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/695599764449672/?ref=search&referral_code=undefined

Hi all, I've been eyeing the 15x15 Atlas clamshell press the US Cutter is selling right now. It looks exactly like the Joto, just a different color. Anyone know if this is basically the same model/maker? Does anyone have this press? If so, can you tell me if it heats evenly? Does it have good even pressure? Decent components? Or should I get a different press? Btw, I tried to call US Cutter to ask a quick question, and waited on hold for 15 minutes before finally giving up. Is that the norm for their customer service? Thanks.

sure looks the same but betting uscutter orders many more containers of them at a time - better price

Ok so I took the leap and bought the Atlas today. Will report back when I get it for other folks who may be considering this press. Also, for those who might be curious, here's the Joto press that the Atlas looks identical to (other than the paint color): https://jotoimagingsupplies.com/joto-auto-release-clamshell-heat-press-15-x-15.html Apparently, these are also identical to an old version of a European press (sold in Europe, manufactured in China) called Secabo. It's wild how the heat press industry works! Seems to me that if they're not manufactured in the US, they're all basically made by the same few manufacturers in China and then branded with each US company's logos and color schemes. I'm hoping the USC Atlas is truly the same as the Joto, 'cause if it is, US Cutter is selling it for about $300 less than Joto. Score.

If your interested in other cutters, this Ioline is quite expensive, plus a Stahls heat press at Stevensville, Maryland $1200 for both. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/481467259677001/?ref=product_details&referral_code=undefined

Not sure about the Joto but a lot of these are all made in the same factories. It looks to be well built for a budget press. Definitely a few steps up the ladder from the bottom of the barrel and states that it has a well built platen. I have only had one clam (an older Hix) and did not enjoy having the heat platen right above my knuckles but they are more space saving and budget saving as well. I have an auto open Hat press (hotronix) and REALLY like the auto open feature. Not sure how the electro-mag hold down longevity is but it appress to be a clone of the Hotronix magnet. I would say for a start-up that is a pretty good choice.

3 years ago I bought Graphtec FC8000-75 for $1000 free ship on Ebay. Took me about 10 minutes to fix it. They had the cross cut blade locked down.

Been messing with it for the last 3 hours and pretty much went over the basics again and something worked. No idea what it was and don't care. As long as it works haha!!

like slice said for years have used a safety straight edge and knife - then a crop a dile for easy consistent corners. Will only take once of jumping a cheap straight edge to see the value in the safety one. https://www.uscutter.com/Big-Foot-Safety-Ruler https://www.amazon.com/We-Memory-Keepers-Corner-Chomper/dp/B0024M5GH4/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAj9iBBhCJARIsAE9qRtA0-4BaYeGmSndcEzcpy51TtUY6KbiQE8oAdijP_sKVJOzwTbh9I90aAuA4EALw_wcB&hvadid=410002791764&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9017298&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=11068647363990048297&hvtargid=kwd-2984241593&hydadcr=24664_11410921&keywords=crop-a-dile&qid=1614189846&sr=8-6&tag=googhydr-20

What do you mean, slice them? Just use a utility knife and a T-square. (Hint, to round off square corners, a nickel coin is good to trace with a knife)
