Do as above, and make sure you push the ORIGIN button on your vinyl cutter, before you send your file.

I cannot speak as to why your guy takes months to do the numbers for you. It is possible, that he just has too many jobs if he's the only game in town. Trolling the forum for answers, and searching YouTube will go a long way for "how to" on a lot of stuff. So, that being said, outside of just posting to this forum, what have you tried? - Type your text - Select your text (if not already selected) - Effects > Inlines & Outlines > Outline Effect

Cutting vinyl is considered a "skilled" job, It takes skill and experience, that is why prices are what they are, and your trying to do the decals yourself. You will find that the same questions have been asked and answered hundreds of times on here. There is a search bar in the upper right hand corner, feel free to use it. Outlines was just posted.

The first thing that you need to get correct is the blade depth. Start here. To start with, you should set your blade depth correctly, by taking the blade holder out of the machine, and firmly cut across a piece of scrap vinyl, you will be cutting. You should only be cutting the vinyl and barely a mark on wax paper backing, Adjust blade to get there, Then put the blade holder back in machine, and use the force of the machine to get there, same results, only cutting the vinyl and barely a mark in wax paper backing. You should just barely see and feel the blade tip out of the blade holder. Start with your speed at slow, no need to go fast. Show some photos of your problems.

I would bet the CDM20828 standard driver is sufficient. http://www.uscuttersupport.com/downloads/Drivers/cdm20828_setup_windows.exe

I found an old Ebay ad for this cutter, The user manual said 2005 on the front of the cover and it originally came with Flexistarter 7.

I agree, you do not want to start with a Cameo. Start with a full size vinyl cutter. You can do anything, No reason to limit your self to a small size like that. There is so much more that can be done with a full size vinyl cutter. You really will want a cutter with a stand. Vinyl tracks much better, when it is on the vinyl rollers behind the stand, and you can cut at much longer and wider lengths. Don't go cheap and buy that MH. At least start with the SC2 or up.

Don't do it. For just $419 you'll be better off with the SC2 (24" with stand) and get a feel for a "real" cutter. The little Cameo3 is $249, and if you can't justify the extra $170. capital outlay for a BUSINESS, then you are not a business.
