3 pointsSame here Dan. I just look at a design and I know what to price it. I don't figure anything. I know what it is worth to me. It either sells or it does not.

3 pointsIf you are not subscribed to Sign Craft it’s worth the small subscription fee there are tons of information and it includes their pricing guide which in my area is pretty close I personally don’t use a certain pricing standard I go by cost and approx hours to price.

2 pointsI ran the calibration and it ended up being 991.22 x 991.22. A slight adjustment to my blade offset and overcut (turned them down to BO .26 and OC 1.50) and my MH871 is cutting 5x5 and no dovetails. Time to do the SC34. Thank you darcshadow and MZ SKEETER for all your help.

2 pointsGo to your Vinyl Spooler, Under Calibration, the last option in the list should be Calibrate Cutter Scale, run that routine.

2 pointsWell too bad. There is still other software on the graphtec site for a Mac. That Easy Cut Studio is like running a Ferrari on kerosene. Junk software, Craftedge.com is your tech support for that.

2 pointsYep I have seen many signs and vehicles cracked and peeling.....plus it’s a selling point I use a 10 year premium vinyl

1 pointHave you converted the text to paths? I wouldn't think it would matter, but worth a shot.
-
1 pointMake sure the pinch rollers are equal distance from the vinyl edge. Yes, never be pulling from the roll while cutting.
-
1 pointMH not even close. Bottom of the barrel. We tell buyers not to buy it. Anything higher would have been better

1 pointI have my OC set to 1mm, probably a bit high but it doesn't seem to cause any issues.

1 point"Blade Depth and force, I think are fine. I've read a lot of your posts about blade depth. Making the adjustments you have suggested in other posts have stopped the dovetails other times for me. I have the blade set to cut the vinyl and it barely leaves marks in the backing paper." Unless you set the blade depth like I stated, you will have problems. You can have the blade way too far out, and still cut only the vinyl, and barely cut the wax paper backing. Follow the instructions. We are trying to help you. It is blade offset that has to do with dovetails. You need less blade more force. You should just barely see the blade tip out of the blade holder. You only cut with the very tip of the blade.

1 pointYou were on the right track with changing the units per inch, the calibration routine above will set the units per inch. for reference, my units per in on my MH are 996.08 x 997.6. Also note, you'll need to do this for each cutter as each cutter is going to be a little different. Once you get this set correctly and if the dove trail problem comes back that would be an offset setting. Dove tails are a result of too much offset.

1 pointI downloaded Graphic Studio and it seems to be working....now...if I can get my money back from that other software company????

1 pointMacs just make your options more limited. Some use Macs to design but save off on a thumb drive and cut on Windows. With that Graphtec Pro Studio, it is full design and cutting very similar to Flexisignpro. A cheap $100 laptop can get you going. I have bought several online. I think you may need at least Windows 7 for Graphtec Pro Studio

1 pointDid you try any of the other suggestions? There have been several. What were the results? Need to know the results of the suggestions in order to offer additional advice.

1 pointGoose...if you can master AI, then Corel should be a snap. In my opinion Corel is much easier to work with and is my "Go to" program. Sue2

1 pointSo, been tinkering with the VM Demo, and I'm liking the features.. The DXF export has been blocked on the demo, so I need to call and see if they can let me do an export somehow, to test it and see if it's going to work for me. Also need to call because the way the demo has it blocked, you can't tell which versions even PERMIT the DXF export. Plus, I want to confirm that I can upgrade from an OEM version (I've run into a wall on that before). Everything hinges on those items. If the DXF is good, I'm buying... just my tinkering around with it has clearly shown me some great potential there, even though I really don't get some of it. Working with vectors of that type has never been something I did except where I had to make something happen, but I'm sensing it's something I can learn to do properly. Honestly, though..? I was almost out of the market on the Vinyl cutter. I was evaluating price, and realizing I didn't truly have much need beyond the basic SC system, and aside from resolution, and sound level, there was nothing pushing me to go for anything beefier (yet!).. I'm not really a sign company, it's more like I get asked to do signs from time to time, but that's mainly because they're stainless. In my area, outdoor signage is heavily regulated, so it tends to be replacements, or indoor signage; they're just buying from me because they like shiny metal, the dancing visions of seeing their custom-made name/product/favorite saying/logo that they can show off to their friends/co-workers/ and family.. That aspect is a bit hollow; feeding the desire for material goods, ego, and pride, but it's still rewarding to see them get excited about an idea. With smaller stuff, for like cars, toolboxes, etc, it's arguable that I could increase my market with vinyl, (more so, with a dye-sub system to back it up) but I've got a significant learning curve to go through, and I hate offering early attempts which could be so much better if I just knew what I was doing. It's nothing I'm really prepared to dive-in on and start producing with. Getting VM going, would actually be a much higher priority at the moment. An OEM version of VM that I can upgrade later, would work-out pretty well for me, in-conjunction with the demo for the upgraded portions of the program. For now, it would seem that I'm really getting sucked-in by the dye-sub and press though. I'm swimming in ideas for it, and youtube has done nothing but fueled that fire. THOSE costs, I can fully justify at this point. Also.. raster-based? Thank goodness! Youtube step-by-step videos for marketable products that could work with my existing offerings and abilities? I'm sold.. Then, in theory, as noted by others, I could make the Dye-sub system (and the little cutter) buy me a better cutter, and if I can't.. well, then it's good thing I didn't spend all my money. I still want to get to a Titan 3 one day, and I'll be pretty pleased when I can justify it by the directions the cheaper cutter takes me, but for now? I need to watch what I pile on my plate all at once. Thanks for everyone's help, patience, and forgiving me my side-trip there with the sister thing.. Everything that's been said has been useful and appreciated.

1 pointwhere it says JOB SIZE, why do you have 382.074 %? (hard to read the screen shot) It should be 100% All of mine are, and so is Dakota above.
