OK, one from "way back", one from when I started vinyl - with a good guy I met at a car show... and one from this past Christmas.

Where did the design come from? Basically the forum can't be vectorizing copyright protected work so there will be some limitations unless you are the creator or working for them. I did a quick image search and didn't find it so that bodes well. The trace didn't come out all that bad. Just some detailing to get it done. What program are you using? Every design program is a little different on how to go about node editing but that is what you'll be doing.

Been years since we did the show your face - we communicate all the time but nice to put a face to the screen name. a thread this morning about why we sold the printer made me think of the old thread we had here is why we sold the printer - cheap transatlantic trips - last year your could do the rome to san juan for $450pp now lets see your mug so we can put a face to the screen name

When you said family member, I don't think copyright is a problem. I Agree with WildGoose that the trace result isn't bad. One way that might allow you to fine tune the results, but might take some effort is to get some tracing paper, a dark pen or marker, and trace it manually by hand. A lightbox helps. Scan that and try the auto trace again. When you are tracing by hand with the marker, only trace the outlines of the shapes, skipping any shading or hashing. This might in the end leave you with something easier to correct.

You have Flexi 8.1 and Graphtec Pro Studio software,, (Also Flexi) and they both have great editing tools. Put the design on wire frame. You can see what needs done. You have HELP at the top of each layout screen, Time to learn what the tools do. Those Flexi tools are like magic. The only way you learn is to try it. Plenty of edit and undo, if it isn't quite right. You have had Flex 8 for years and years. Flexi training discs and lessons have been for sale for many years. You can learn very fast from Mark Rugen http://givemehelp.com/training-needs/ Or Go to Ebay and buy the discs. That is exactly what I did. If you don't know how to use the tools you already have, it is time to invest, to learn them.

Yes, the first thing I did was take pics. One wire at a time. Thank you! I had went to the support/ solutions and couldn't find anything about the motherboard. Thank you! I already had replaced the carriage twice and the circuit board on top of it. The 5 techs that I talked to at US Cutters are stumped. That's why I have a new mother board. Thank you everyone. I'm just gonna take it slow and double check my work and hopefully fixes the problem.

I just posted the whole gang so you'd pay less attention to my ugly mug! Ha ha! All but the last three are out of the house now so it feels like an empty nest. But you can see why I started an extra revenue stream. I'm like the local ATM. Nice ride Mike! If I didn't have so many kids I would own a Fat Boy that's about my style. Slice you look like Mike Rowe off Dirty Jobs. What does that say about sign work?

Goose - your family genes are like my wife's family - took 14 kids from that generation for a single boy to show up - I gave up after two as I saw the odds lol Skeeter - I would have lost the bet on you posting one for us - nice photo Mike good to see you finally Slice - great picture - love it Scratch thanks for playing along We interact all the time but seldom get to put a face to the name - newbies - feel free to jump in - It doesn't take long with some interaction to become part of our dysfunctional family here on the forum - looks like 2 of us from 2008 and a good cross section from then on
