@MZ SKEETER You're a method!! Immortalized for the eternity of the forum! Woohoo!

Yeah I am definitely researching the Graphtec. I think that is what I will end up going with.

I like your choice better than the original

Thanks, I found a similar font I just add in the swirls as needed. I made a decal for our laundry room.

Wow yeah that would be nice. $1795 new doesn't seem like a bad deal when its only a couple hundred more than the titan 3.

Also, keep in mind, unless you're cutting the full width of the vinyl a little drift is not a big deal, so long as the cutting head stays on the vinyl your final results will be good. But yeah, trying to the use the rulers won't work. They are just slapped on there and it's just luck that they are lined up as close as they are. Load the vinyl run it in and out a little ways and watch the relation of the edge of the vinyl to a roller. If it drifts, lift one roller, adjust the vinyl slightly then try again.

I'm not sure what is in the spooler are actual files. I believe the program stores that info in a database type system. It'd be best to not depend on the spooler history and just load your vinyl master file and send it to the cutter.

Graphtec offers us Graphtec Studio as their design softare on the Mac side. I have not really compared the Graphtec Studio (Mac) to Graphtec Pro Studio (Win), so I really couldn't tell you how much they differ. I still do really, really, really simple stuff with my cutter - the fanciest I will get is doing 3 or 4 colors (hahaha). But I have tested for cut in both variations of the sotware in their perspective operating side and it came out perfect each test. This is what a basic screen shot looks like of GS in Mac. I know I should be learning GS or GPS (or even VM) because it's more powerful and versatile, but I also have to learn Corel and AI for my laser engraver, and that's taking priority right now. Meh, I no my way around SBE enough to get the job done, so until I get a good grasp on the engraving side, the cutting software will be "as needed" on the learning curve.

Also make sure you didn't accidently turn multi cut on in the cut settings. Make sure it's set to off.

Thanks. I will find out in a couple of days.

I did the Skeeter method for blade depth yes. I don't think there is any other effective way to get there especially on something that thick. It is definitely a cool product that has a niche application here and there. I did a logo on one of my personal hoodies out of 600 to see how well it holds up and it has stayed well.

goose = I am guessing that he called in an order for will call pick up and was not impressed with the service he got - I am waiting to see if anyone responds from UScutter as they had indicated last september they would have someone monitoring the forum.

if you run parallels like Hanauma had said you can also run the Graphtec PRO Studio Software that comes with the ce6000-60 free ($2100 value) - it is private branded flexi pro and the best software I have used - use it daily . . but must be used in a windows environment. makes the ce6000 seem pretty cheap once you factor that in

Here is a hat I did. The Red and Blue are regular Siser and the White is Brick. May even be Brick 1000 which USC stopped selling. If you look close you can see the corners are not perfect part of this is from the cut and part from the length of time I had to leave it in the hat press to get good adhesion. Regular shirts you can turn inside out and heat from the back side but the hat took some effort to get it to stay put. The client loved it.

I have never had a Titan. I started out from an original LaserPoint, and 10+ years later I thought I'd better get a "back-up" machine in case the LP died. I'm just a hobbyist (word of mouth business), and know that I've made money back on it several times over. So even sinking a few thousand in a new machine was another big step, but I bit the bullet and got the Graphtec. Now the LP is the 'back-up' machine and the only time it got turned on after I got the Graphtec, was to make sure that I still connected successfully and could cut via Parallels after I changed up the wiring to my Mac a bit. My husband doesn't help with the vinyl side of my hobby, but he knows how much better this machine is over the LP. When I told him there was a guy selling his setup locally - he immediately asked if we should get it. I'm not sure what he's thinking, but I have no room (unless I get rid of the LP), and I don't expect my new Graphtec to have any issues for a long time to come. If it's only a few hundred more, get the Graphtec, you won't regret it.

Hey Goose. When you say simple shapes for the brick 600, just how simple do they have to be? Do you have any pic's of what you have done with it? Also, do you use the standard "skeeter" blade setting procedure?

    MZ SKEETER, you're awesome thanks!

If you're cutting from rolled vinyl - it will usually feed pretty straight if you have equal tensions when setting down the pinch rollers. If it's still going askew, or if you're feeding it a sheet - use the tick marks on the roller and jog your vinyl back and forth through the cut window and watch which way your vinyl is drifting. I till will be pretty obvious quickly and then you can lift just ONE pinch roller and nudge it just a bit, then hold the vinyl in place and do a quick lift and down of the pinch roller(s). jog the vinyl again. keep on doing that until you get the degree of "straightness" coming through the jogging that meets your standards. If it's drifting off of a roller, then do the same thing to align for straightness, but make sure that you pull enough slack off the roller before cutting so that the pinch rollers will not be tugged by any tension from the roll of vinyl. Good luck.

Done and Done. I have both my LP and Graphtec running in SBE via Parallels. I can also have the Graphtec cut straight from the Mac side too. Depending on what your budget is - I'd go Graphtec. It took me years to want to put more money into another cutter, especially since my LP was chugging along just fine, but WOW! What a HUGE difference. Now the LP is collecting dust and never gets to see the light day. If you can't afford a new Graphtec, then find a working used one!

actually slice - graphtec has different blade holders that have red and blue caps - the cb009u that most of us use are the blue standard blade holder with a blue adjustment knob on the top the cb015u is for a thicker blade used for things like thick sandblast resist (thinner can be cut with the cb009u) and has a red adjustment cap - unlike the protective caps you show on the roland blades when they are shipped - - - http://www.graphtecamericastore.com/blade-holders/

I will follow up on this. Thank you to all that took time to reply. I bought a Graphtec CE Lite-50 for the guy on ebay. I spent most of the day setting it up and I am very happy with it. It is a quality piece and works great. It has a 130 page owners Manuel so I have lots to learn. I look forward to downloading the Graphtec Pro and learn that program, I hope it has more to offer than VM Letter. A gain Thank you for the Help. Bill

You do not mention which cutting software that your using, so guessing...Giving enough info to work with, is very important. Otherwise we can only guess. Not all errors have to do with the vinyl cutter directly. Many problems do exist from wrong settings in the cutting software. All settings have to be correct, as well as keeping the design inside of the sized layout, when you select your design to send to the vinyl cutter. Is your cutting mat in your cutting software sized big enough to fit all 3 designs into? Try this below, If using Vinyl Master software. Go into the Vinyl Spooler, and from the "Settings" menu, ensure that "Force Position" is NOT selected. Also make sure that the vinyl is only about 1 inch from the far right side of the vinyl cutter.

I mainly do screen printing on T-shirts but also do a lot of trucker hats with my hat heat press and heat transfer paper as well as some heat transfer shirts, have a clam shell heat press to. I was excited to find a local supplier for heat transfer products and a site filled with the things i'm interested in and want to expand my business with. I intended to place my first order and pick it up today because I need a product for a job today but the customer service rep was so rude, condescending and unhelpful that I will probably never end up shopping here even though i'm in the market for a number of there products. I would have loved a place i could pick up at but I guess I'll just pay for shipping and continue searching the web for good heat transfer products.
