It sounds like a great deal and it is a servo, which is a plus. although I have never heard of it.. Do you have that kind of room to set up a cutter that large? It's pretty big. It's worth the asking price. I saw the ad.. Just make sure if you go see it that they cut a detailed design for you so you can see how it cuts. You would have to look at your LXI software and see if it is on it for a cutter set up. You can check that yourself. As far as just everyday cutting, the size 55" wide,is overkill. I have a 30" cutter and have never needed anything wider. Trying to handle vinyl that wide is pretty hard... Those size rolls need 2 people to lift at 50 yd lengths. Plus trying to tape vinyl that wide,, It would take a huge table. They don't state how old that vinyl and tape is..it may not even be good..

Hello! I'm Jami. I'm a graphic artist in a custom auto and off-road shop in Southwest Montana. I have about 11+ years in design experience with Adobe, vinyl graphic creation and installation, vector drawing, apparel design and screen printing. I joined this community to use as a resource for my vinyl work. I currently use an R Series II 24" plotter, and if you've ever used one, you'll surely understand why I'm looking for something better. I hope to possibly contribute some knowledge myself, as I have learned much of what I know through trial and error.

UScutter was moving out their regular CE6000-60 vinyl cutters at that price, to sell the Graphtec CE6000-60 PLUS models. They did the same with the Graphtec CE5000-60 a few years back when the CE6000-60 were introduced. I got one at that great price. for my son.

I had a 50" as my second cutter - then I figured out how hard it is to mask and apply that big of graphic - that and almost all of the stuff I do can be done in segments that a 24" cutter will do - doing a 4' x 8" in 2 segments is much much easier for me. for your price point of $1K you can get a new titan servo - or if you want one and done buy a graphtec for a bit more

If you have a Tripp lite Keyspan Adapter, you don't need to run that fast. The Keyspan Adapter controls the data being sent to your cutter and not overload the memory. It has helped many members on this forum.

Your going to find even that the Graphtecs that are 7- 9 years old don't have parts either.. I bought my machine new in 2008 and have never had a problem. If you have that kind of money that the Kona was, just buy a new cutter that has a warranty, support and parts. Like I said 55" is overkill A servo cutter is always a plus.

With it being a Redsail and Lxi software, that you have sounds like it came from Signwarehouse. Not sure if their LXI is full cutter version or just their cutter drivers. Here are the specs on the cutter https://www.thegrs.com/Web page files/Mutoh Kona/mutohkona.pdf

Should be as easy as add new cutter and see if it is in the list.

With Family I figure there is always a chance I'm going to be doing it for free. Ha ha! I have a select group of clients and if I know them and have history I float it and get it all upon delivery. I would not recommend this to be the best approach but I live in Idaho and things are a lot more old school out here. As in we still often do business on a handshake.... and we shoot people, so there's that.

2 thing stand right our along with that has already been said - NEVER use clear application tape doing wet - won't work. 2nd always use a good quality application tape as it will make your life a lot easier. the person using shelf liner must be yankin your chain

I always use a final wipe of rubbing alcohol. It is also possible someone has coated the glass with rainX which can really screw you. On top of that if it were me I would use 751 on glass work. You would not believe how much glass will expand and contract with heat changes and the cast vinyl will hold up longer.
