well this wasn't what I was looking to do right now. but it was def something in my head when I purchased my cutter . was just waiting until I upgraded cutters and computer 1st. then a friend hit me up fri afternoon wanting shirts printed for his new business for a meeting 7/25. I started looking who could get me a press here in time. that def made a challenge. while I was shopping for my cutter and every time U S has a sale . Ive looked at about every brand . and had somewhat decided to order 1 of the 15x15 swing arm models from here. I did get to talk with a couple sales reps. from a couple companies, it was too late to get something from any of them. so I got on the only web site I knew I might be able to get something before mon. even on there options were slim to get it here. finally found something. not at all what I wanted, but I figured it would get the job done and I was out very lil $. so I ended up with a 9x12 swing arm del sun. I already had some siser htv . so today I got it set up and started. I believe I like this better than any of the other stuff ive done with my cutter in the past yr .so I guess its time to really get busy in my vinyl biz so I can afford about 5k in upgrades. pics of my 1st project

1st off I would like to thank everyone on this forum for all that you contribute to all of us newbie's! I would have never gained the courage to attempt doing HTV without all of your knowledge. Also I can't believe how addicting this HTV is! So here's my 1st "real order" of 12 shirts for a business.

I don't know about the LaserPoint II 31.5" but I just got in a 25". It has 5 grit rollers and 3 pinch rollers. Because of the placement of the grit rollers you can set the pinch rollers to 10 different widths. Centerline to Centerline: 1 1/2", 5, 6 1/2, 8, 9, 14, 15 1/2, 17, 20 1/2, 22

I personally had a WF30 with a tank system installed from Cobraink. It had clog issues often, even if I used it for everyday printing. I have heard they improved the tubes to another material that has less issues but eventually I hit the head cleaning limit and since it only did small sheets I threw it away. At that point I went to the 7610 and bought the carts. The printers can be found for $150 and the carts can hop printers is my theory. I have a 7620 that is dead from letting sub ink set for a week or two. I had a automation running that was cycling a print job every day and something went wrong with the wifi connection and it stopped. I rarely do sublimation so I just pulled the tanks and will buy another printer if a job comes along. My original 7610 is still working but has a few clogged nozzles that I fight. As long as I do the right setting it still produces passable prints but I should go get another one. My biggest complaint, and the one I would hope the new tank style printer would fix, is that the stupid printer still thinks it's running out all the time. The 7610/20 printers are ink hogs and one or another cart is always low and as soon as the printer thinks its about out it will kill a print job part way through even though it's not actually out of ink (because I can see it's not) When it resumes it will attempt to print the other half of the messed up job if you aren't paying attention and then you have TWO messed up sheets. I would assume that the tank printer will have some other set up where it doesn't do that. Other than that one issue I'm happy with the cart system. It is definitely a really affordable way to go and you can have the ability to print great big sheets for a small price with little concern because at $150 they are basically disposable printers.

I'll use the analogy of it's like going from a Cadillac to an Accord. Both get the job done but it's just a much smoother ride in the Cadillac. More "bells and whistles". For the sake of not bashing our host's flagship cutter too much, some of the things I don't particularly care for: Grit roller placement, mainly the lack of a larger one on the right side like the Graphtec has. Poor quality build. I had to replace the USB port within the first 3 months of using the Titan2 due to it coming loose. Yes it was under warranty, but I still had to sit and wait for them to send me the part. Tracking is noticeably better on the Graphtec, at least in my opinion.

Very true...... I've been very happy with my 24" . Ive been able to do store glass front designs 8 ft by 9 ft and 4x8 signs etc.. with no issues .just have to know how to cut things to make them work.. I just did a design for a biker group i picked up and the over all design was 40" tall .I was able to split the design into 3 whole pieces and came out great. As far as i see, i dont need a larger cutter as of yet.

I agree totally with Dakota on the width. My first cutter could;d handle 48" vinyl and I actually tried that once.... Once was enough for cut vinyl. When I upgraded I downsized to a 30" cutter. I cut 30" a few times a year and it's very nice to have that option but I don't mess with wider. If I was a large format printer dude and had a nice big wide printer it would be a different story. For cut vinyl 24" will handle 95% of it.

that's pretty much the way I look at it. what good is it if you cant read it? I'm a unexperienced/ no graphic, computer education newbie. everything self taught, learned from post on here, or by @Primal Decals. I just finished lettering my 3rd commercial vehicle a few weeks ago. and that's how I explained it to him. I feel like if it isn't big and bold enough no 1 will know what it says passing it on the road at 45mph. colors and fonts customers pick out can make that hard. that's when I tell them to start paying attention to other vehicles with graphics/lettering, do they just look pretty sitting still, or can it be read moving? I have 2 more commercial vehicles to quote this week, so maybe I'm doing something close to right.lol

So while you are writing this, why don't you download the trial version and get to work. until you get the code? You could have already been working. The trial versions are available for both Vinyl Master and Sure Cuts A lot.,and Signcut. which ever you chose. Many people still just like the FREE version of Signblazer and have been using it for years, as long as you have Windows PC. You have more options, you just didn't seek those options out, Instead of throwing some childish tantrum, you could have just asked the forum what you could do until you got the Key. Super nice people here, who volunteer their time to help...With that attitude for a business, you might as well send the cutter back now, and nobody here will care. You won't last long. This job requires patience,

Where do you see that it prints using Eco-solvent ink? The way I'm reading it uses Eco-tanks meaning that it's "eco"nomical for printing because it prints so mean pages from it's tanks of ink. Just making sure you're not confused about what you're buying.

Same here ..... For me when i mention the product name i use like Oracal as well , I kinda school the customer on cheap brands and name brand material, quality and expectations of the material im selling. I feel when you have a good name to back your work it helps you out much more and that will get around if people happen to know about cheap china vinyl versus a name brand ,rather than saying i dont know the name of what it is , but it should last lol... No thanks . My name and my material is my business and by using a lower quality non branded product is just asking for less business or no business and people will talk really fast about failing products you sell. Where are you buying from ? Uscutter? Thats where i buy all mine from and i dont have a complaint on the pricing ,especially if your charging enough. Once i found out what a design etc costs me to make after learning all this in the past 2 1/2 years i dont even bat an eye anymore ... And i can thank Wildgoose,Dakotagrafix and a few others for one for all the help they given me .

house brands like greenstar usually don't put a name on the back - won't use em but that is an option - oracal and 3m put their name on the back fdc does sometimes but a lot of time theirs is blank and better choice than house brands. Personally I advertise I use oracal and 3m to show I use quality products and am very Leary of people that sell no name vinyl. IMHO

I'm new to sublimation and not really knowing what all I need to get started. I mainly will be doing stainless steel tumblers, t-shirts, and coffee mugs. I have an Epson C88+, I know i need a continuous ink supply, i also have a 9in1 heat press. What should I buy as far as ink, paper, and is it possible to press a 16oz and 30oz steel tumbler with my heat press or should I buy a 3D press?
