Let me throw in my 2-cents. I started with the MH871 32" and at some point, got the SC (my MH had the USB port break when I tripped on the cable -- the replacement board was cheap and simple to install, but in the process of ordering the part from USCUTTER, I decided to spring for the SC and keep the repaired MH as a backup) A while later, I sold my entire sign shop, and the SC went bye-bye as part of the deal. After more than a year, I re-opened in another spot, and placed the MH into use again. Heck, I did a big job today that was worth 1/2 the entire value of the machine! That MH is a workhorse. To this day, it serves me well, and I have had no problems in cutting all sorts of relatively minature stuff, as well as long vinyl runs, up to 20' or so. Put it together with an older laptop with a serial port, cut with SignBlazer or VM, and go.

def the installation of 3'x12' decal for a beginner was a task to say the least. I think the sc did a decent job cutting our sign, but it was just txt. I'm sure a higher brand would've done a better job. only complaint I have so far with the sc cutter is noise. because of that I don't use it in the room that I was planning on doing all my vinyl work in

Ha! Yes I know Allison. She rode on my crew for a while during her Paramedic intern. Also have her on Facebook. Small world!

Was just chatting with someone on FB and discussing the people we have known for 8-10 years that still do this and are successful - seems the common denominator is they work hard and get the orders out no matter what - they charge a reasonable amount to pay for time and equipment and seems most all of them have a certain cutter in common it's interesting looking back and analyzing

Well there ya go, you may not need one with the Titan! I just never gave it a second thought when I got mine. I just unplugged from the SC and into the Titan.

I am pretty sure the only brand (for some reason) that works is the Tripp-Lite. I too did the same thing when I was told I needed one. I bought one of the cheaper ones and it did not work. I was told it had to be Tripp-Lite. Not a problem since. At least that was the case with my SC cutter. I also use it on my Titan 2. I haven't even tried the Titan without it.

Is she a structural or wildland firefighter? I know a couple female firefighters from my time on the ambulance in Medford. I might just know her

Totally cool. My brother in law races NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle, when I told my sister that I was set up for vinyl cutting she said I should expect some work for his bike by next season. Exciting to see your work on TV

i had issues with my mh series for the first time ever after years of use doing this some time back. it was static generated from the roll unrolling killing it. as was said, unroll and wipe down to dissipate the static and it cut fine (6' in my case, so almost 2 meters) i had no tracking issues at all.
