one of my favorite sports is shooting. Anyway, I was at the Camp Perry Highpower matches for the last month and have to say it was pretty exciting. I'll try to make this quick. I created a few decals and cut out about 100 to bring with me. Instead of trying to peddle these out of my trunk I figured I'd visit one of the vendors thats pretty popular and ask him to display them and sell them for a cut on the profits. So, to make a long story short. While I was showing him the decals and showing how they apply a customer walked in and said..Ohh..cool can I buy some of those. The store owner told him the price (100%) higher than what I was selling them for and the customer bought 10. After the sale the store owner looked at me and said, "How about I just buy them all from you right now" and lets forget trying to track commission etc. I was thrilled to death! A few days later I went by the store and he had sold them all!! He told me he would be interested in putting them in his catalog for sale if I could work out a deal with him on price etc. Well he took me to lunch and we hashed out a deal for the "First" order. Yea, I'm gonna be busy. 3000 decals. Wooohoooo I think I need another cutter...LOL Even after a price break I'm doing very well..This decal takes about 30 sec to weed if that. Better stock up on some blades Never could f pulled it off without a little help from friends here!

My wife and I started dating in August of 2012, and by December she and I had laid out the framework for our potential business idea -- race car wraps and decals. We both had come from racing backgrounds, she was a second generation racer, and I had worked in racing media for years as well as skip hopping around helping different tracks with promotion. By February on our low budget we had bought a new cutter from USCutter and a ridiculously unusable used 42" printer. We called it Dead Man's Designs (Later changed to DMDGraphics to appeal to general business clients, we still use Dead Man's Designs for all race car branding though) We have one driver that we do multiple wraps a year for to showcase our styles and work, our family friend Jimmy Lennex, Jr. Jimmy races across multiple sanctions in 4-5 states a year, and travels to several larger PPV and broadcast races a year, a fullfilling achievement in me and wife's life was getting to watch cars we had designed and wrapped race on TV. He and his dad also help operate a tire shop in a little town on the Ohio/Kentucky border, and needless to say they've been the best publicity a business owner could have. These are a few of the wraps we've done with Lil' Jimmy First wrap took us 4 hours to install, it was the first wrap we ever put on with no experience prior. It was also not laminated, rookie mistakes. The red car was the third wrap. My wife and I after install His 4 year old son was a huge Grave Digger fan those days, so we did a Grave Digger theme The blue car was the 5th wrap, and is probably my personal favorite.

They guy I made the hockey mugs for I told him I don't want to do them anymore. I'm just to freaked out by it. He owns a bar so I'm trying to get him to go with his logo. We'll see.

I finally figured out how to use the rotary attachment. I don't think I'll be sandblasting anymore.

There are horror and sickos that are into this stuff and I get them wanting shirts like this, its make is as its ordered it series. Ones on ebay and some people are selling them on craigslist I'm selling my greeko or however you spell it but your kind of far from me. I can never go back to the cheap ones anymore after the break the bank Fusion. HTV is great I say as long as you handle designing and make it all work out go nuts with HTV.

very good deal - now you will be very happy to have that graphtec - that with the cleancut blades will make that job soooooo much easier than with a value cutter for that qty! congrats and happy shooting

Depends on the look you're going for, and ultimately what the mall will approve. Heres a couple mockups I was able to draw up. When I think country, beadboard is one thing that comes to mind. And when I think rustic, rough sawn wood comes to mind. Pallets are a good cheap source for this if you're willing to spend some time tearing a few apart. For the actual sign portion, you could use some cabinet grade ply and paint it for a base surface to work with. There's lots of options for the lettering. You could cut them from vinyl, paint them on, or even cut them from wood or acrylic sheet to add some dimension.

Yeah we're just outside Cincy, I had already hit up Craigslist and other places with no luck. We just bought a LaserPoint II after a lot of bouncing back and forth, plus our contour cut jobs aren't ridiculous (we make mostly racing numbers and other large simple stickers), this way we can ideally afford a new motherboard for our old junkie SC when they arrive and still have it around, but we didn't have to break the bank and use any funds we're saving on better equipment. We were pretty much saving up for a laminator so we could FINALLY retire the big squeegee, but we may postpone that for a Graphtec or Roland cutter. (Atleast the motherboard in the big squeegee won't go bad anytime soon) Thanks for all the help.
