I think you are mistaken if you think this cutter will do as good of job as other methods.....I suspect that you will need to change blades every few designs......The blades are meant for cutting thin vinyl, not thick mylar.....Also, the stepper motor will wear out very quickly if you are doing heavy work....

I need 2 rectangular strips cut out on matte black vinyl. The thinner the material, the better. It will be going on a vehicle so a higher quality vinyl is a must. I was thinking 3M ControlTac (or anything similar) for anyone who stocks that. Each one 11.5" wide by 3.5 yards. I would do this myself but I have a refine cutter and the 120" length makes it very hard to keep the vinyl cutting straight Essentially, You can cut the entire thing on a 24" by 4 yard roll of vinyl and throw it in a box and mail it to me. I can do the weeding myself. Application tape is not necessary. Thanks!

Your comment about 59.00 for a sign that is 2 times bigger tells me your formula is flawed.....Would that make a sign 1/2 the size 15.00?.....If so, not worth doing if it is a 1 sign order..... I generally use 15.00 as a starting point for custom work, plus 0.07 per square inch for 1 colour (about 1/3 more for each extra colour)....So for 2 colours 20.00 plus 0.095, 3 colours 25.00 plus 0.12, etc. etc...Then I add extra for the substrate....Usually at my cost because I am making enough on the vinyl already.....And by not marking up the substrate, if you also offer a better substrate the difference in price is more reasonable.... I do not sell very many 18 x 24 coroplast signs because my price sucks....About 47.00.....But I also offer coloured 0.040 aluminum for 53.00 which is a way better sign and a great price... And as far as art time, I do not add extra for vectoring logos.....I figure if I treat the client well they will use it again in the future...If they want clipart, the pick something stock or pay for it somewhere....

The new setup of your website looks pretty good. But I did find a big problem with it, any time I go to one of my old bookmarks for the site I get a page not found. Thats to be expected when you do new modifications to your site, but the problem is you do not have a link to your home page from your page not found (404 error) page. You may want to look up how to customize a 404 page on google, as I am sure you are losing quite a few visitors to your site because of this. Most of the time when someone comes to a page not found they will click their back button on their browser and return to whatever page they were on last, unless they have another option. That is why most commercial sites have a customized 404 page to provide their customers with that extra option, to quickly and simply go to the sites home page. Most people will not take the time to manually type in uscutter.com, they will just assume something is wrong with your website and go away. Here is an example of Googles 404 page, which is very simple but effective, giving the user the option to simply click Google and go to their home page: http://www.google.com/whatdoesyour404pagelooklike.htm This is Uscutter's 404 page: http://www.uscutter.com/whatdoesyour404pagelooklike.htm Just a bit of advice for you, I hope you find it helpful.

$59 in my area would make my shop a ghost town. $25-$30 based on simplicity of the text and if I have the material in stock

2CT is right on the formulas..I think in my area $59 wouldn't fly..I would be more at $29 based on the costs listed...I would print the logo, install with no app tape and be done with it in 5 minutes or less..But thats me..So for me $29.00 bucks for less than $4.00 bucks of material and 5 minutes works not too bad...

The intent has always been to keep the forums as non-commercial as possible. It would be simple to offer a forum with banner ads (you know, like the 101 guys) to increase revenue and offer merchants the opportunity to advertise their services. But the forums are meant to be by and for the members...a community. The buy, sell, and trade section was created mainly for used equipment, supplies, etc. However, it is also used to promote services....without adding a commercial aspect to the forum. This way,all members are free to post and none are favored. There are many free and inexpensive methods to advertise on the internet. This forum isn't and was never meant to be an advertising space.

they don't look any different than any other shirt? (or am I missing something) If they are 100% cotton or 90 -10 or 50/50 should be the same I would guess??

Hey guys, I foregoed (yup, that's a word) the "introduction" section on these forums. I figured that you PCut users would get my first introduction.. I've been in the sign business for about 5 years. I'm a geek, and have been one for most of my life... Blame it on the 386 my parents purchased when I was young. Anyway, I was fired from my last job (LONG STORY) but, lets just say: I'm better off. I love technology, and couldn't keep away from vinyl plotters and Router Tables. I'll backup a bit and explain myself. I started with a sign company 5 years ago. I started as a floor sweeper, but quickly gained interest in the CNC table they had there. I had no clue what it was, but 5 minutes into it, and pressing buttons when the operator looked away, I was hooked. I became the sole CNC Programmer/Operator for those 5 years. I also ventured into the vinyl room, and taught myself the Digital Printer and their Vinyl Plotter (both Mimaki's). I am killer @ Flexi, and can hold my own in CorelDraw. Anyway, I guess that's about it. I will be monitoring these forums, offering assistance to those of you that need the help. If you have computer questions, drop me a PM and I'll resolve it for you! Seems to me, the only reason you came on here was to cry about everything. Grow up man, get a life, and stop wasting others time will you? It's unbelieable that this thread has went on this long.......... UNREAL hahahahaahahahaha Just shows you the mentality of the beast I guess?? Have a great day, and hope you find another plotter on ebay that will hold a true laser, get some shielded goggles and burn the world down. That will work WELL!!!! Get that... that will stencil cut anything you put in there ! WOW! I'M A LEGEND IN MY OWN MIND!!!! WWWOOOOO HOOOOOOO WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HEHEHEHEHEHEHEH Have a great Day! And props on your new true laser plotter! Here's the answer to your dual question as well Dual position carriage (front position for cut-through, rear position for standard vinyl). Roland compatible blade holder gives you access to the most economical blades available. Two fully adjustable pinch-rollers allow you to use a flexible range of materials. Superior ball-bearing dual roller media roller system allows you to place material on top of rollers rather than putting roller through material each time. http://theairbrushforum.com/questions-answers-paint-airbrush-related/2407-thinking-about-vinyl-cutter-machine.html

PM'd you. Also to remind you. If you want light weight, you need a light weight material and ink. Both Vinyl and Transfers are heavy. Many Baseball teams use Vinyl due to the cost to put numbers and names on the t-shirts. The problem is that transfers and vinyl don't breath. We can use a Water base ink which is lighter, discharge which is bleaching the t-shirt with a special waterbase chemical, or plastisol with a reducer which thins the ink. Thank you, Paul

That logo will never look quite right in cut vinyl no matter how many colours you use...It was designed to be printed in full colour and should stay that way....
